Jason walked out and went downstairs for breakfast and he saw his mother and sisters already seated and waiting for him and his father.
He took his seat and soon his father stepped out and join them for lunch as it was already noon.
They ate in silence and after lunch his father spoked to him.
"Son. You know the ceremony is tomorrow, Hope you are prepared on blessing the new couples?."
Jason nodded and his father stood up.
"Come with me" Alpha Eli spoked and Jason stood up and followed his father, and they left the living room and went to the west wing of the mansion.
"Not everyone in our pack is happy that you're going to take the Alpha position. I know Wise one Austin cursed you not to have a mate. But you can still try to feel the mating bond and pick a mate to atleast bare you a son."
"Hmm.. Father am not interested in picking a mate." Jason replied and he saw his father sighed.
"Is alright. Come with me, there's something I need to show to you and give to you. To atleast protect you from the enemies in our pack. Many years ago some of them wanted to rule over the humans world, and some went farther away with the acts of wizardry and witchcraft just like the Marcus family. They wanted power by all means and to also control the humans. The humans are more beautiful and they didn't knew about our existence amongst them. Not until the rogue ones amongst us started travelling wide and far to exposed our kind."
"Hmm" Jason sighed and stared away as they approached a room door.
"I know that father. We all know the history."
"That's right son. But I want you to have something my forefathers gave to him. It's a more like a necklace, but an amulet, and you've to always leave it on your neck."
"Okay father" Jason replied and his father pushed the room door opened and they walked in..
Jason stared around the dusty room while his father took out a small brown box and opened it and he brought out the silver shinning necklace that had the moon and stars drawn as a pendant.
"Here, turn let me wear it. You don't take it off and that will help reduce the effect of Wise one Austin cursed so you can find a mate."
"Father!" Jason wanted to refused as he heard his father spoked about finding a mate again, but his father already locked the silver necklace round his neck and Jason tried to removed it, but all to no avail..
"You cannot remove it son. It will be in your neck always. I cannot afford to lose you and there's still one more thing you need to know."
Jason stared up to his father as his green eyes glowed in anger.
"Father, I told you am not interested in finding a mate!."
"I know" Alpha Eli replied and he shut the small brown box closed.
"Even if you don't want to find a mate. Your mate will find you and more likely you wouldn't be killed easily. I know as I've taken these off and given it to you, am at risk now among the enemies amongst us. But knowing you're safe is all that mattered. Tomorrow night, I will give to you the mantle of honor and you will become the next Alpha of Greshood packs. But son.."
Jason breathed out and calmed and he asked, "What else father?."
"I want you to ensure to stop the killing and abduction of the humans. I want a new leave for all our kinds. No more human to be used for meals, no sacrifices and no hunting of humans.."
"Father, that won't be easy. Not when the humans scent delicious.." Jason replied and his father walked away to the door.
"Our Ancestors weren't really animals, but humans, and if we don't adjust to fit in back, somedays we will be completely wiped off from the hurt and pain of those whom had lost their love ones due to the attack. I'll take my leave now. Prepare to choose a mate tomorrow."
Jason groaned as he watched his father left him in the room and he walked to the table and stared to some of the artistic painting there. They were past Alpha, whom he assumed where his forefathers. He sighed and finally left the storage room.
Walking back to the stairs, he remembered his prisoner hadn't eaten and he walked back to the kitchen to serve out her meal.
Just as he was thru dushing out her meal, his mother stepped into the kitchen and smiled to him.
"Son, why didn't you called for me or your sister's help?."
"Not necessary mom. I want to eat these later, when am thru with my training."
"Okay son." Chloe stood aside as she watched her son exit the kitchen.
Jason breathed out in relief and he went back upstairs to his chambers in the third floor.
Pushing his sitting room door opened he walked in and locked it from behind and he went to his inner rooms to find Ann.
Ann had slept off again as that was her habit to reserve her energy.
She didn't heard the sound of the door as she just slept and Jason walked in and placed the cooked meal on the bed while he moved closer to her and removed the hair strand away from her pretty face.
He ran his hard fingers carefully to her smooth face and Ann's eyes flung opened as she felt his cold touch.
"Sit up and eat" Jason spoked as he withdrew his hand away while Ann's eyes burnt at him as she refused to eat even as she was hungry.
"Am not hungry" Ann pushed the plate away while Jason turned to face her.
"Why?" Jason slowly asked and Ann stared away from him as she folded her both legs to her stomach and she stared away, wrapping her arms around her chest.
"I don't have your time. The mating ceremony is tomorrow and I need to head out for my training."
Ann was quiet and still refused to eat.
Jason turned to leave and seen she was not making any attempt to picked up the spoon he walked back to meet her
"What's wrong with you?."
"Am not hungry. Is it not better I starved than eat. Let me go" Ann asked him, but he shook his head and stared away
"No. I have told you, you cannot leave here, and that's for a truth." Jason replied.
"Why?" She asked him.almost sounding teary.
"Why would you keep me away from my family?. I've been locked up here with you for days and yet you think of it as nothing. Let me go or you can as well k!ll me now."
"No!. And that's enough. I cannot allow you to leave!" Jason stared away from her as he hated to see her cry.
"Why?" Ann clutched to his bare back and held him closer, making him turned hot.
"Go on and k!ll me, unless am going to scream and attract your family!" Ann sobbed.
"Hmm" Jason swiftly turned and stared to her crying face and he held her closer.
"You're so unaware of a lot. Your brother and sister ain't human. And with your sister liking me, I cannot risk losing you to her if she turned rogue."
"Liar!" Ann fumed and she started hitting on his hard chest.
Jason allowed poured her anger on him and when she was calmed, he turned and walked away. Shutting the room door closed and Ann had no other option than to pull the plate of food closer and she ate.
She knew he didn't lied about meeting her family but she wouldn't continue to hide as she wanted to meet with her family.
She sighed as she started eating while thinking on how to persuade him to allow her go home.
"Maybe I should just beg him, if he will allow me too. I need to see Mia.." Ann sighed and she continued eating the delicious meal.
Jason stepped out and went to the field for training. A lot of male wolves trained in the open field on how to combat like the humans, while they gathered and watched the two male selected to combat in a circle, while the female wolves attended mating classes
The female wolves were taught how to seduce their mate, lure their mate to bed and how to have coitus with their mate. They were also thought the best position to mate so as to quickly conceive as conceiving wasn't easy for the she-wolves like it was for the human female.
Jason sighed as he walked to join the crowd of male-wolves standing, to watch the two male-wolves combating. It was intense and they were dripping sweat all over as they rolled and fought in the sandy soil.
It was an interesting combat to watch and just then he spotted Tyler whom walked up to meet him.
