Bad timing ************ "Mother!!...hurry up!!..." Fina's voice yelledwhile she lightly fixed her hair, which she had shortened a bit. "Am coming dear" Her mother's voice replied from the other side of the room. The sound of a carriage could be heard from outside their house, making Fina jolt from the stool she had sat on. "Mother, Mr. Watson's here!!!" Fixing her very revealing dress, she quickly set off. Immediately after, her mother walked out of her room. "Oh my mother,it seems I should be expecting a stepfather soon." Came Fina's voice, which brought Elena into a fit of laughter. "Oh, don't be silly, dear..you look rather ravishing, I must say. No person in their right minds would look at you just once when you walk by." The laughter of Elena as well as Fina filled the room as they kept complimenting themselves before walking out to where Mr. Watson,a carriage renter, was waiting. Most villagers who got invitedwere attending the ball per the local carriage, which consisted of more than a few passengers, but Elen had made sure to rent an average carriage, andeven though it had cost a lot,she didn't care; she wanted to show off how higher leveled they were compared to other villagers. A smile pastered on the old man's lips as he watched his mother and daughter walk out of the house. "Good day, Miss Elen... Fina " He greeted them with a polite smile at both, who looked nothing less than members of the high-class society. "Mr Watson" Elen dragged her tone as she greeted in the same manner. They approached the carriage and were about to enter when Mr Watson's question made them halt. "Where's your other daughter?" Mr. Watson's question was polite and sincere, but to Elen,it was as irritating as a plague. Her face wrinkled in distaste, but she was quick to hide it before turning to face Mr. Watson. "Oh, Razia. I'm afraid she won't be attending the ball." Her face looked sad and unhappy as she said so. "May I ask why?" "Oh, she... she seems to have gotten sick with a cold, and as a caring mother,I wouldn't want to stress her out with the ball, people, crowds, and all that." Elen spoke with sadness in her tone. She really wanted to get this topic brushed off quickly, as talking about Razia alone irritated her. "Are you sure?" Asked Mr. Watson, whose face was looking far off from where he could see someone with a brég shell over their head approaching. Elen cursed within as she turned around, only to see Razia, who had earlier gone to the stream for water. What bad timing, this witch. "Oh razia dear" Elen exclaimed Quickly approaching Razia and helping drop the shell down. Razia's eyes widened in shock, but immediately she saw Mr. Watson standing beside a carriage, which she presumed was here to take them to the ball. She understood why Elen acted the way she did. A perfect mother figure to the outside world. "What did I tell you? Why did you have to go to the stream in your condition? If there was no water at home,Fina would've helped." "What!?" Fina exclaimed, but immediately she got a scrutinizing glare from her mother, and she immediately strengthened. "Uhm, yes, yes..razia, why didn't you tell me you needed help? Let me help you with..." "Ah, no, no, it's fine. I'm feeling better now, mother." Razia spoke with a smile. "Oh, thank goodness,I was so worried." Her hand went over to Razia's disheveled hair, stroking it slightly like a caring mother would do, and Razia once wished from the deepest part of her heart that Elen would treat her this way genuinely. The way Elen stared at Razia worriedly at the moment made her yearn for a motherly torch and love—the kind that would make her feel loved and accepted—but immediately Elen's hand left her hair, and she noticed the distasteful hate that flickered in her eyes for a quick second. Since Razia was seen in perfect condition, Mr. Watson asked why she wasn't attending the ball, and Elen couldn't make up a good enough excuse. "She would've, but...the time...we wouldn't want to be late." "YYou're precisely two hours early, so I am sure it wouldn't be a problem to wait, but if you're worried about the time,no worries. Razia, dear, you can get ready. I'll be returning after taking your mother, and I can drop you off at the castle. Totally free...okay" Mr. Watson smiled politely at the girl in front of him. Elen's face was as sweet as a saint, but inside, you could see a raging lion. She was beyond annoyed at the intrusiveness of Mr. Watson. If she had gotten ready maybe a bit earlier, this witch wouldn't be following the ball. "Alright then, since there's still time, Razia, dear,go in and get ready; we wouldn't want to be late, would we.?" Razia's eyes widened a little. She really didn't think she would attend the ball, and honestly, she didn't want to. She was more than happy she would get a few hours free from her mother and Fina as well. She really didn't want to go. "Uh no no mother,it's fine I don't need to.........." "Nonsense. Everyone's attending the ball. Why shouldn't you? Now go get dressed, dear." Elen spoke sweetly, but the glare she was giving Razia already revealed how she felt. Not wanting to get into trouble,Razia simply grabbed the water she had fetched and went in. Elen's lip curled up in a devilish smile as she watched Razia go in to get ready. Hmm, she'd like to see what the witch would wear, seeing as she barely had any Per clothes,at least it wouldn't be her fault that Razia couldn't attend; it was a perfect plan.
