"What?" She snapped.
"You called me. You always call me."
"I'm not even sure it's possible I can call you with this phone."
"I'm mad at you."
"What did I do?"
"I called you two days in a row. Two days! Both days you weren't there."
His lips twitched up. "You missed me."
"So much!"
"I tried talking to Jake about uneven balls dude and he reported me. I marched right down there and told him off."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah." She clarified firmly.
"And what did you say?"
"I told him only Chicken was worth uneven balls stories."

She cleared her throat stiffly. "What's up?"
"Hey." He replied just as stiff.
She cleared her throat again. "So, it's 1am."
"On Sunday." He added.
"Yes it is." Silence. "It is very much Sunday and 1am."
He rubbed the back of his neck. "You know, I have to lock up soon-"
"You're the only one there?"
"Just me."
"Do you have to lock up right now?"
"I mean I know it's says you close at 1am but what if you just close your doors at 1am and.." She trailed off getting lost in her own mess of words.
"And?" He urged.
"Um, not your mouth?"
"Close the doors and not my mouth?"
She hung up.

"Where's chicken? What did you do with him?! Chicken! Where are you?!"
"Is this the lady from the other week?"
"It sure as hell is. What're you going to do? Report me again." She sneered.
"Look- we may have gotten off on the wrong foot. I just felt harassed and-"
"Harassed? Harassed? No no no, that was not harassing. I'll show you what harassing is. Give me ten minutes." She stopped herself from rambling when she heard another voice in the background and light laughs.
"I've got it Jake."
"But dude, the chick is crazy." They exchanged a few more words before another voice filled her ears.
"You're scaring all the other employees away."
She breathed out a sigh of relief. "Thank God, Chicken. I thought he did something to you. He's a sneaky motherfucker you know."
"Mhmm."
"I missed you."
He smiled.
