Chapter 25: Pieces

Zoe woke up screaming at the top of her lungs. “Let me out! Let me out please!” She screamed

“Shhh Zoe it is Ok! Calm down, you are out of there!” An old women said.

“I not going to marry him! Akihiko is coming for me no matter what you say!” Zoe screamed 

“Akihiko did get you sweetheart, look around you - you are not in that box anymore!” The old women said firmly. 

Zoe stopped and looked round she realised that she was on a large bed in a large room. Her injuries had been attended to and she was not been slowly cooked anymore.

“Where am I and where is Akihiko?” Zoe asked quickly looking round. Was this one of Benny’s tricks? He is a sick enough fucker to pull something like this Zoe thought.

“You are at The Anderson’s house in Washington. My name is Mrs Fathering, the Anderson’s Housekeeper.

“Anderson’s?” Zoe said confused

“Yes. Andrew’s syndicate chair’s family” Mrs Fathering said 

‘Andrew is here? What about Dave?” Zoe asked trying to get up.

“Everyone is here and in a meeting. Just relax and rest, you have been through quite an ordeal. Plus you are on a lot of morphine so it is probably best if you lie back down” Mrs Farthing said gently pushing Zoe back down.

“I am tired, I suppose it would not harm to close my eyes for 5 minutes” Zoe murmured 

“Exactly and I will wake you up as soon as anyone arrives” Mrs Farthing said. Which, wouldn’t be too long if earlier is anything was to go by She thought as Zoe fell asleep. Hank and Theo basically had to drag Akihiko, Andrew and Dave away from Zoe’s bedside!

“You do have your Mother’s eyes and brains by all account” Mrs Fathering murmured as she sat back down.

Meanwhile, Akihiko, Dave and Andrew were been escorted to Tony’s study. Hank, Tony’s second in command knocked on the door and entered. Akihiko was surprised to see Ena already there with Erin, Kurt and Tony. 

“Ena? What are you doing here?” Akihiko asked in Japanese 

Ena looked sheepish before saying “I am sorry”

“For what?” Akihiko said his eyes narrowing and Ena looked away

“Ahh Gentleman, please take a seat. There are some things that we need to discuss” Tony said

“If this is something to do with Alannah and the virus..” Akihiko said

“No, it is nothing to do with that. Akihiko please take a seat, you too Andrew and Dave” Tony ordered and they complied. Theo and Hank took seats as well before Tony began.

“I have come across some information that will be relevant to all of you, though in different ways” Tony said

“Benny Lampart has been found?” Theo asked

“No, but it is only a matter of time. This is especially true as it now  become a Anderson’s personal issue” Tony said darkly

“Personal? Has something happened  to Grace and Xan?” Kurt said suddenly worried. The heads of the China Syndicate have become close personal friends, especially as Grace was Alannah’s cousin. 

“No they are fine” Tony said

“Then what Tony?” Theo asked.

“It has to do with Zoe” Tony said 

“Zoe? She is not anything to do with your family or syndicate!” Akihiko grumped

“That is not precisely true” Ena said

“Can someone please explain to us what is going on?” Kurt said impatiently

“Zoe is my Daughter. She is the heiress to the Shadow Weavers gang and all related to associations” Erin said. All related associations meant the God’s Eye, arguably the most powerful Gang Spying organisation in the world. 

“So that is why I was sent to protect her!” Dave said with a smirk.

“I don’t understand how this is possible!” Akihiko said

“Well when two people are in love and have special feelings..” Kurt teased

“Shut up Kurt!” Akihiko grumped

“However, Kurt brings up a good point. Who is her Father and how does this relate to Ena?” Theo asked his eyes narrowing. As happy as he was for Erin, Theo could not work out what this had to do with the Evans.

“You are not Zoe’s Father?” Akihiko said with his eyes widen in shock.

“If only it was that simple!” Tony moaned

“meaning?” Kurt asked

“Zoe’s father is Nickolas Medvedev” Erin said quietly 

“What?” Theo said

“Oh Theo and Kurt I am so sorry!” Erin said looking down. She had just told them that Alannah was not the Grand Princess to the Russian syndicate.

“That is bloody fantastic!” Theo said with a smirk and Kurt broke out in a massive smile.

“Beyond fantastic, we won’t have to deal with that old bat anymore! I can’t wait to tell Alannah!” Kurt said feeling like he could high five everyone in the room.  Alannah and him would not have to be separated when   Alannah was suppose to take the Chairmanship. Any children they had would not have to be brought up in Russia. In short, Kurt felt like he had just won the lottery.

“You are not upset?” Erin said shocked

“We don’t have to deal with the old bat as much, we are bloody delighted!” Theo said happily.

“Hang on, let me get this straight. Are you telling us that Zoe Lewis is actually the Heiresses to the Russian Syndicate?” Akihiko said carefully 

“Yes. She is also Alannah’s and Grace’s Cousin” Tony said. Making it absolutely clear that Tony considered Erin’s child to be his full Nice.

“Oh great!” Akihiko said sarcastically in Japanese under his breath. His relationship with his Little Dragon had just gotten much more complicated. Least his syndicate would not dare complain about Zoe’s status now.

“Which just leaves Ena” Andrew said thoughtfully 

“Erin had Zoe adopted for obvious reasons. The adoption was by my younger sister and her husband. Aimi was good friends with Tony’s wife Betsy. This means legally I am Zoe’s Uncle” Ena said looking at Akihiko.

“What? When did you know and why didn’t you tell me?!” Akihiko roared

“I knew after the dinner we had. She commented how my tea making and food was exactly like her Mother’s. You know that Yamamoto has a secret tea blend! Once I found out about her parents, I knew beyond a doubt. I hadn’t seen her since she was a toddler, but I remembered her Zoe’s Blue eyes” Ena said

“And not telling me? Is that why you gave me such a hard time for breaking up with her?” Akihiko said

“You broke up with Zoe? Are you insane?” Andrew snapped

“It was for her own protection! Not that my love life is any of your business!” Akihiko retorted

“It is when it involves Zoe!” Andrew said angrily.

“Enough! If you two can not behave I will have Theo and Hank throw you out! Understand?” Erin said in a dangerous tone. The two man looked like they wanted to argue, but Erin was not a women to be messed with. She could quite easily ordered them both to be murdered in their sleep. Besides, she was Zoe’s Mother and they would need permission to court Zoe.

“Apologies Erin. It is just Zoe and I have been..” Akihiko said 

“Dating and f*****g like rabbits? I am well aware of that, just like I am aware of you branding and kidnapping Theo’s daughter! You have not exactly bathed yourself in Glory recently have you? Do you think Anastasia is going to be happy? I don’t think so!” Erin said lifting an eyebrow up in a disapproving glare. Andrew smirked at Akihiko’s dress down.

“Zoe will have the final choice, but don’t think for one minute I will put up with any bull s**t on this matter! She is an Anderson, Yamamoto and unfortunately a Medvedev and will be treated with respect.  It is lucky Anastasia can’t claim Zoe as she already have a heiress, but if you think for one moment Anastasia is not going to try and marry Zoe off to a Russian man, then you are beyond stupid!” Tony declared.

“That is not going to happen! Zoe will marry me and become my Empress, it is a fitting for someone of her station” Akihiko said in an arrogant tone. Ena rolled his eyes and sighed.

“We will see” Andrew said 

“Yes we will!  But the biggest question is who is going to tell Anastasia Medvedev and can I please listen in?” Kurt asked with a smirk.
