Asper Reign’s POV
The guys were busy preparing for the party that they were going to attend while I was roaming around the farm.
Most of our men will go out tonight for the operation that we are going to do against the Amarante so I had to check every corner of this place to ensure that our enemy will never get past our security.
I personally hand-picked and hired some of them so I know their skills. I can also trust them but still, I had to double-check everything.
Even if someone takes advantage of the fact that Jyn was not here and attacks this place, the people who remain by my side have the skills to protect me.
“Asper!”
I stopped walking and I saw Jyn walking towards me.
“What the hell are you doing here alone?” “Even inside your land, you still have someone accompany you.”
“Will you please relax?” Bumuntong hininga ako. “This land is safe. Enemies might get inside but they will never have a chance to get near me.” “She has been following me wherever I go.”
Whenever I am inside the mansion, Jaira has been using those times to sleep. But as soon as I stepped my feet outside, she immediately got up and followed me.
Zaire put his lady in charge of my safety and since they are from a super elite group that has the capability of stopping mafias and gangsters in their country, I put all my trust to their hands and just do what I normally do.
Umiling-iling siya pagkuwa’y bumuntong hininga. “Yeah, they are good at their jobs but we still can’t drop our guard even here.”
“Sorry for making you worry.
“Then, let’s go back to your mansion.” Hinila na niya ako pabalik sa mansion. “It is not that I don’t trust you.
“I understand your worries, Cee,” sabi ko. “But make sure that you will focus on your mission later for the party, okay?”
“As long as you stay inside your mansion, I think I will be able to focus on what I should do there.”
“Well, that is the plan.”
“Clea Mair?”
Bumaling ito sa amin. “Miss Asper…” Bumaling siya kay Jyn. “Boss…”
“Did you forget something?” tanong ko. “Mag-isa ka lang?”
Tumango siya. “Yeah,” sagot niya. “And I went back here to ask for a favor.”
“Let’s go to the conference room.”
“Is it okay for him to be here?” tanong ko tsaka itinuro si Jyn na pumasok din ng conference room kasama naming dalawa.
Tumango siya at naupo. “Yeah, it is okay,” aniya. “What I am about to ask you is for my personal gain.”
“Oh.” Tumangu-tango ako. “Then, spill it out.”
“I heard you are connected with the main branch of the Henan Clan. They are your cousins, right?”
“Yeah.”
“I am no longer the future empress of that land. They revoked the agreement when they learned that Conrad was the reason why Andrel got hurt.”
“Oh.” Bumaling kami kay Jyn. “I didn’t expect that your cousin had the guts to mess with that Henan.”
Sumandal ako sa balikat niya. “You know about that?”
Tumango siya. “Andrel and Clea were shot while having lunch in a restaurant.”
“We were having lunch back then,” ani Clea.
Kezia and Aasiyah were just telling me that she was busy with her mission.
“I fell into a coma for three months because of three shots I got,” Clea added. “And I just heard that Andrel took most of the bullet as he used himself to shield me from getting hurt more. Then, I heard that his cousin took him back home to the Reveni Empire, terminated the engagement I had with their emperor and even cut my contact with everyone close to Andrel, including his friends and staff.”
“I heard Adriel also threatened you to seize your clan and take all of you out of the palace if you tried to contact Andrel,” Jyn said. “Is that true?”
Tumango siya. “Yeah. But I don’t really care anymore what will happen to my clan. All I want is to see him again and make sure that she is safe.”
Hmm...
Why do I have these feelings that something is going on between the fiancee of the Reveni's emperor and the youngest princess of Hexoria?
