My Very Best Mistake

Chapter 6

Ammaline Pearson: 

The morning sun started to shine so I decided to go for a shower and start my new day. After I took a shower, I felt better. The desperate feeling that I had last night all gone into the sewage. 

'Alright, let's go make some breakfast.' I told myself. I spent just 30 minutes for our breakfast. I didn't feel so great. I had my breakfast before Olivia woke up. After finishing my breakfast, Olivia came out of her room. She was shocked by seeing food on the table and seeing me ready for work. 

"Hmmm.... you actually woke up early and made breakfast. Nice!" she said.

"I'm leaving for work soon. Enjoy your breakfast and don't forget to clean all the dishes." I ordered.

"Ok!" 

I left my house and went straight to my workplace which is the hospital. I walked into my office and changed into my nurse uniform. I only had to take my jacket off and put on my white shirt for a nurse since my uniform is a little bit different from the other. There wasn't any special work today so I just went and checked some patients. I spent my days working so hard and barely get times for myself. I checked every single patient by myself, although there were other nurses, but I enjoyed working here especially when I see those patients getting better and better. Seeing their smiles, they eat well and sleep well encourage me to work more. I started to like the atmosphere here at the hospital. Views from our hospital is kind of good. The hospital has a large park for patients and visitors to visit, not just others even some doctors and other hospital workers also go there. Beside the park, we have a rooftop garden which people can watch sunset and sunrise there. It also has the best view from rooftop located on the very top story of the hospital which is on the 15th floor. There are trees and flowers that calm people and make them feel relaxed with the view that I mentioned earlier. There are many special things about this hospital which I can't really describe every single detail of it. 

My phone rang. I looked at it and see that it's my dad. My dad and I haven't talked together since that day and it's been 3 weeks already. Without waiting any longer, I answered my phone.

"Am!" my dad's voice popped up.

"Hi, dad! How are you doing?" I asked my dad politely.

"I'm fine as always. How about you?" 

"Fine as always too" I laughed a little bit and I also heard dad chuckled too. "Is there anything you want me to do?" I added.

"Yes!" 

"Hmmm. What's it?" 

"It's about a VIP patient." dad said.

"Ok! So what do you want me to do?" I asked.

"I want you to take care of that VIP patients. Actually, they're not sick. They just do their normal check up, but you have to go to their house to draw their blood and stuff." 

"Ahh! Okay I see. By the way, who are they? Are they someone special?"

"It's nothing special. They hired one of our doctors for their family. Normally, the doctor just go to their house. It's a private service." dad explained.

"But, dad, I'm just a nurse. I'm not qualified to be their doctor." 

"It's okay. You're qualified to be a doctor. It's just you don't have a doctor degree, but you're knowledge is better than most of the doctor. I believe in you, Am." dad proudly said.

"Will that VIP complain our hospital for just sending a nurse to check their health?" I asked curiously.

"No, they won't. Actually, they asked for you." 

I was shocked and curious at the same time. "So, they know me?" I asked dad.

"Of course" 

"Do I know them?" I asked again.

"You guys met, but I'm not sure if you still remember them." 

"Then, would you mind telling me who they are please?" I asked politely in a teasing kind of way.

"They're Mr. and Mrs. Parker."

"What?!" I was surprised.

Dad didn't say anything. 

"Dad, can I not go and let other to go instead of me?" I begged.

"What's wrong with Mr. and Mrs. Parker?" 

"Hmm it's nothing, but I just don't want to go since I'm just a nurse who just graduated and I'm not a doctor either."

"I told you that it's okay. They wouldn't mind. Instead, they would be happy. Go there tomorrow morning!" 

I sighed. "Ok! Is that all you wanna talk with me?" I asked.

"Hmm yes!"

"If that's all, goodbye, dad! I have other works to do." 

"Ok, bye. Don't forget tomorrow morning." dad reminded me.

I sighed once again after ending the call. I didn't even remember when I met Mr. and Mrs. Parker, but whatever it's my job to do it anyway. I asked the doctor who used to take care of Mr. and Mrs. Parker and he explained everything that I need to do clearly. He gave me the health record of the couple and the address of the Parker mansion. 

The next morning, I woke up early and had my breakfast. I had to go to the Parker's mansion as soon as possible because I need to draw their blood while they have empty stomach so I need to get there because they had breakfast. I arrived at the Parker mansion at 7. I parked the car in front of the big mansion and went in to meet their maid.

"Good morning! This is Ammaline Pearson, a nurse from Emerald Hospital. I'm here to meet Mr. and Mrs. Parker. and check their health." I greeted the maid and said politely.

"Miss Pearson, you're new, aren't you?" the maid asked.

"Yes. I'm quite new. I got an order to come here and check Mr. and Mrs. Parker. Are they home?" 

"Yes, they're home. Miss Pearson, please wait in the living room. I'll go and tell them that you're here to meet them."  she brought me in the living room and gave me a gesture to sit. 

I nodded. I looked around the living room and the design of the living room and the whole house is so elegance. The mansion is so big and beautiful with a unique style which shows the prosperity and grace of the mansion and the people who live in here. Not to mention, even the garage is unique too. 

I came back to my senses when I heard a voice of a woman.
