CHAPTER 9: THE ORIGIN

The Mortal Realm Freewoods City, Reardon's House "Huli kayong dalawa! Sabi na nga ba may namamagitan sa inyo. I can smell it from miles away on this rainy s**t day!" The door burst open and an angry werewolf stalked heavily towards the direction of his friend. I failed to notice his presence as I was preoccupied with the conversation I had with the demigod. "Damn it. Stop harassing me, Patch." "It doesn't matter. Your guesses are always that horrible. I don't need another her to mess with my life," Jared reminded. Mas lalong kumunot ang noo ni Patch. "I know how you hate other people around your turf pero dinala mo siya rito. Who's the fool now?" What if they both have no idea what races they are from? Is that why Jared kept Patch in the dark and kept dodging his questions? "It's a one time thing," Jared said in a bored tone. "Ah, customer mo pala? Sana sinabi mo na lang 'agad." Patch gave me a glance I could not comprehend. Jared didn't answer but said something that made my brow curved upwards. "Let me handle her." I decided to chime in. "The fact that you gave me a headache for days, might as well do the same to you." I looked at Patch. "Join us in our conversation… werewolf." I suppressed my grin when Patch’s eyes almost rolled out from its sockets. I also noticed how the demigod's mouth hung open. I hope he didn't think that I only knew a few things. I looked outside and the rain was still pouring. I chose the latter. It’s early afternoon, and I still have time. "I knew it because I am a hunter," I answered with a taunting smirk. After I came out with that little lie, a monstrous growl was heard. It resonated in the small living room that I also felt the vibrations on the floor. My smirk grew wide when Jared flinched away from his friend. I focused my eyes on Patch and saw how his body shook with anger as if I was a big threat. His eyes are shifting to black and will turn back to his human eyes, yet his wrath was visible in those orbs. I read that when a werewolf is on the verge of threat they might shift into their werewolf form. Maybe, this is the start of it. "A hunter..." Patch said in a flat tone yet I could hear his wolf said it too in a guttural voice. I am aware that any supernatural beings despite the hunters, especially the mortal ones. They will wring any hunters' neck the moment they have confirmed it. "Patch, calm down," Jared hushed his friend as he kept his distance from him. "Stay back, Jared. I don't want you in my range." My smirk grew even wider with that. "How sweet pup." In a split second Patch lunged towards me. I anticipated his action. Calling a wolf—a pup is an insult to their kind, especially if it came from a stranger. I dodged his pursuit as I leaped to the side. The werewolf tussled on the sofa I used to sit on. "Slow." I mocked and I flipped my hair. Patch growled and uplifted the sofa—without a second thought, he threw it at me. I sidestep and sense the force at my side. The sofa crashed against the wall and a painting dropped down. I arched my brow as he aimed at me again. He threw a brute punch but I blocked it with my hand. I caught his every punch and I could feel his rage on it but it was no vail. His werewolf speed has no match to mine. I trained with different beings that are much faster than he is. "Stop bombarding my house fuckers!" My eyes caught the next move of the werewolf. He was about to aim for my feet so I leaped—but this time towards him. He did not expect it since I kept on dodging his attacks. I put force on my knees as I situated my full weight onto his body. We fell and I was on top of him as my thighs enclosed his sides. My left hand reached for his neck as I decided to choke him. But I leave a room for him to at least still breathe. "Not quite interesting werewolf. Are you slacking since you are around mortals?" I am pretty sure he can taste the mockery in my voice. "Make me," I teased. "Are you playing games with us?" Jared turned his head at me. I shrugged. "I guess?" Patch growled again and was about to step forward but Jared placed his hand in front of him. I smirked and stood up and clicked my tongue. "Fine, let's be serious this time. If you are that curious, I will include you on this Patch." "In case you haven't noticed, I have ears that are functioning well." "Enough with your bullshits," Jared hissed as his eyes blazed impatiently. I rolled my eyes and decided to drop the mockery. This demigod really has a way of ruining the mood. Napahalukipkip ako ng braso. "Since both of you are aware of what kind of beings you are. I hope this discussion will end well." I looked at them and my gaze did not falter. Patch has this conflicted look on his face and I could feel his bloodlust towards me. While Jared's face remained stern and passive. "I am Zana, a reignian blooded demititan." I started still not dropping my gaze. Patch was about to say something but I lifted my index finger to stop him from interfering. I was thinking of saying something to annoy them but I dropped it. Sometimes my immaturity will slip out even in serious situations. Tumikhim ako dahil marami akong sasabihin. "I know your names because I have heard it. I also have the knowledge of your race since it is quintessential to know it especially for us high rank—" "What exactly is a demititan?" Jared asked impatiently. "If you are smart enough to let me speak—with no interruption. You will know it in no time." The annoyed look on their faces added fun in my head but I need to act firm for them not to take my explanations illogical. "My race is quite higher than a werewolf and a demigod—" I started but was cut off again. Patch growled. "We'll see about that." I summoned my ice sword the moment Patch moved forward. The cold temperature swirled around and the two males felt it as I saw how they shivered. I made sure the coldness can push through their skin so that their bones can feel its chills. Napailing na lang ako. "Another nonsense pursuit and my blade will pierce your skull for not learning patience." The book was right, werewolves have a short thread of patience. A little to none. "I would not take it lightly if you interrupt me again," I warned and luckily, no one made a sound. "As I have said, I am a demititan. My ancestors are from the offspring of a Titan and a mortal." Patch opened his mouth but decided to close it when I arched my brow. I suppressed the urge to laugh when he gritted his teeth, completely annoyed. "If you are aware of the truth behind the outset of which is called The Creation, I commend you. But of course, the races in the Mortal realm are oblivious of the true origin..." The Creation where in the beginning is just an endless pit of darkness, the Void. The space that holds up nothing but pure black was the first entity and it was said that it stayed for eons. No one was around it but its whole self. For unknown reason, the Creator decided to sleep for who knows when after creating the Void. When He rose up from his slumber, He decided to create all the swirling ideas in His head. And for Him to do that, He needed to push back the primordial chaos. He made the blinding Light, the predominance order. The Creation lasted for seven days. That was the truth that was written in tapestries and books that roamed around the Mortal Realm and other realms. "The order of Creation was first, the birth of Light. Followed by the emergence of Cosmos. On the third day was the creation of the sun, moon, and stars. While on the fourth day was the spread of land, seas, and vegetation. And the rise of the Celestial beings was made on the fifth day." I locked eyes with the demigod. "The advent of animals and the ancestry of mankind was created on the sixth day. And on the last day, was when He took a rest." "The mortal realm was kept from numerous secrets after the last interaction of any Celestial beings with mankind. That era was called the Les Sytoh." Does it concern us? How is it linked to me being a demigod?" pahabol na tanong ni Jared. I massaged my temple. "I want you to know the origin because you need to remember all of it, Jared." "Bakit nama—" "Subsequently, a demititan and a demigod are from the lineage of the Celestial beings. And those other races or supernatural beings were a creation of the third guardians. There is a link that connects us all. It was our origin." I walked towards the other sofa and let myself relax a bit. "You and the werewolf race was a marvellous piece of the Moon goddess. She comes with different names like Luna, Chandra, and Diana but her true name is Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon." Although the Greek goddess Hecate is often referred to as a moon goddess. But she appointed Artemis to be the new moon since Hecate was into all types of magic. "What do you mean?" "Selene is our Moon goddess. She is our guide. I raised my index finger. "Ah, you called your rival—the Mother of Vampire... your goddess?" "Anong sabi mo?" Patch roared indicating his rage. Napabuntong hininga ako. "Calm down. I cannot close this discussion if you let your head burn." "May I have all the rights to speak without getting interrupted?" I added. My patience is on the brink of snapping. "Selene, also known as Mene, is the daughter of the Titans, Hyperion and Theia. She was once the moon goddess, the moon itself before anyone else. But she was banished from that title centuries ago before the rise of supernatural beings." It was well known that vampires and werewolves are great rivals the moment they were created. Selene was indeed the moon, she represents it even before the birth of Artemis. But it changed when... Selene defied her parents and fell in love with a demon. It was not written in the books of what kind of evil she fell in love with, nor even his name, it was never mentioned. Regardless of Selene being unfaithful to her old lovers, be it with the other deities or mortals... no one ever thought that she would choose a being that was against their kind. When Selene finds out, the first Blood moon arises in the night sky. She seeked revenge for her lover. Everyone heard her pleas and prayers to retaliate against her parents. Even the devils heard it too and they were delighted to grant a Titan an added evil power to plot revenge to any being. The devils whispered to disrupt the Mortal Realm as if it was a great start to create havoc. And so, Selene with his power as the current moon goddess, turned the already blood moon to be so bloody that it flowed and rained down to several mortals below. Those who came in contact with the blood from the moon sucked out their mortal blood and they became a pale creature with red eyes. These creatures without blood in their body were thirsty for something they had lost, for warm blood. That was the reason she was banished for being the sacred light of the moon. I nodded. "The hauntings of vampires did not last long since they cannot walk through the rays of sun. They lay low a bit and as for Selene, she succumbed to darkness and is still plotting revenge to strike for who knows when." "The goddess Artemis. She was a hunter and a well respected deity." "Paano niya kami nilikha?" I sighed. "I will tell you some other time. I want this demigod to acknowledge his true self first." "Fine." "Does it bother the true moon goddess that we didn’t call her by her true name? We sometimes call her Luna as we pray for her. I smiled a little. "All is well since she understands it. As I have said, she came with different names. In addition to that, the gods decided to split their whole self and molded it into another persona. That is why… every continent has different names of their gods.” "Why did they want to multiply themselves? I jumped on my seat and pointed my ice dagger on his throat. "Your tongue is sharp, I wonder if it can match my dagger.” Patch growled and before he could even claw me, I backed off. I clicked my tongue to compose myself. This demigod is such a chaos of mind. "Calm–less?" Jared taunted with a smirk. I was burning with rage but I restrained myself to summon an entire snow storm to veer his presumptuous way of thinking. "You want answers so I granted it. Regardless if you believe me or not, it is not my concern. But disrespecting the gods because you are not a believer is unacceptable to me," I forewarned. Jared crossed his arms. "Answers... do you mean fraud versions?" "If you find it hard to believe, I will not force you. But who are you trying to fool? I know you are eager to know something." I aimed my right hand at the front door. I released an ice blast towards it and in a split second the door was thrown away and ice shards were everywhere near the door frame. "Good luck to that recalcitrant head of yours demigod. We both know that you want something. See you soon, spawn of winter." ×××××
