I kept my gaze fixed on a blank spot on the living room wall, but I had to unclench my jaw before I could speak. “Great.”
Noah paused, then sucked in a small breath before he picked up the roll of tape from the arm of the couch and set to work securing the gauze on my shoulder. After a moment, in a quieter voice, he asked, “Did the doctor give you any specific care instructions when you saw him earlier this week?”
