Chapter SixDonna walked out into the Simmons and Winslow lobby to greet Sarah. “Hi, Sarah, how are you doing?” Donna asked. Sarah gave her a look that said she was struggling. “Come with me to the conference room and we'll talk,” Donna said.
As that sat down, Donna looked concerned and asked, “Are you okay?”
Sarah said, “I'm hanging in there. I feel like I've gone from golden child to someone simply being tolerated by top management. There's a whole new wall between me and them. I'm not sure if it's real or not, but I feel it.”
“It has to be a tough functioning in that environment at this point,” Donna responded.
“Make yourself comfortable and I'll let Scott know you're here.”
“Okay.”
Donna picked up the phone and said, “Scott, she's here.” She hung up and said, “He'll be right in.”
