The atmosphere in the foyer was charged, father's expressionless eyes were on me before a small smile found it's way to his lips.
"Hello Damien, it's nice to see you, you look hale and healthy." He said.
"No thanks to you." I replied, he sighed before turning to Lenore.
"Why don't you get ready for dinner? Damien and I will join you and your mother at the dining room." He whispered, Lenore nodded, glancing at me before walking up the stairs.
Father waited till she was out of view before turning to me.
"How have you been?" He asked. "Why do you care? Last time I checked you left me to rot i..."
"I only wanted the best for you Damien." He replied cutting me off. I let out a snort at his words.

I was about to call him out on his lies
