A knock on my window had me looking up, I frowned, placing a bookmark in the book I was reading before keeping it on the bed. I walked to the window and almost screamed when I saw Jason grinning at me from the other side.
"What are you doing here?" I asked unlocking the window and pushing it open for him to come in. He hoisted himself up the sill and landed with a thud in my room.
"Hey Princess" He whispered adjusting his leather jacket and ignoring my question. I stood there blinking at him in confusion.
"What are you doing here?" I whispered again glancing at my door. Siobhan was on the floor and the last thing I needed was for her to catch me with a guy in the middle of my room.
"I came to see you." He answered walking further into my room, his thick combat boots making noise on the wooden flooring.
"Why?" I asked, closing the window gently and pulling the blinds together. No one had a view of my bedroom but it was better to be safe than sorry. He sat on my bed, leaning back, resting on his shoulders, his legs spread on the floor.
"Do I need a reason?" He asked; a brow raised as his eyes slowly taking me in, I was dressed in a pair of short shorts and a shirt that was twice my size. He bit his bottom lip
"f**k you look good." He complimented his voice taking a husky tone. I felt my face go warm at his compliment, taking a step closer to him; I froze at the sound of footsteps.
"Annalise?" Siobhan called out.
Oh No!!!
With wide eyes, I turned to Jason who looked totally unbothered.
"Hide!!!" I squeaked racing over to the bed and attempted to pull him up, he chuckled and I glared at him.
"This is not funny!!! You need to hide." I hissed, her steps were getting closer and closer and I felt like I was going to pass out from the panic that was coursing through my body.
He rolled his eyes, standing and heading for my toilet. The door clicking shut, I looked around the room, making sure everything was in order.
"Annalise." Siobhan called out again, gently opening the door. I spun to face her, forcing a smile and she walked into the room.
"Hi Siobhan" I greeted; wincing at how high pitched my voice sounded.
"Are you alright? I heard a series of sounds." She inquired. I nodded clearing my throat.
"Yeah, I was just... I'm fine." I answered; she eyed me, nodding slowly.
"Okay..." she said still looking at me suspiciously, "well I am heading out. Are you sure you'll be fine by yourself this night?"
"Yeah, you don't have to worry about anything. I'll be fine." I answered. "Alright then." She turned and headed out of my room, I followed her to the door and she turned to me.
"You have my number; call me if you need anything. There's food in the fridge, extra cash in the kitchen in case of any emergency..."
"Siobhan!!!" I cut her off "I'll be fine. Don't worry." I assured her, patting her shoulder. She sighed wearily before nodding. "Fine, I'll be back tomorrow. Have a goodnight."
"Goodnight." I said and watched her walk back down the hall to the stairs, I walked to the landing and waved as she picked her bag and headed out, closing the door behind her.
I let out a breath in relief, she did not suspect a thing and I was finally alone, well not alone. I spun on my heel and walked back to my room. Closing the door behind me and opening the door to my bathroom. It was empty; I walked into the closet and saw Jason leaning against the wall, looking out the window.
He was dressed in a black turtleneck with black jeans and black jacket, his hair in a man bun, a single chain necklace around his neck was the only accessory he had on.
"She's gone." I said making him turn to me. His stormy grey eyes lighting up at the sight of me, a small smile creeping up his lips.
"Come 'ere" he whispered, I closed the distance between us and let him pull me into his arms, his hands on my waist while I wrapped my arms around his neck, playing with the strands of his hair that had escaped his bun.
"You wanna do something fun?" He asked trailing his nose down my neck. My eyes fluttered close as the sensations he was causing had my brain shutting down.
"Wha..." I stuttered, he pulled away smirking before pressing a soft kiss to my neck.
"Get dressed. I'm taking you out."
I looked at him confused, a frown on my face. "We... we can't." I said.
"Why?" He asked
"It's late." I said pointing to the digital clock on my vanity table. He rolled his eyes at me, walking over to my drawers, pulling them open and closing them till he found what he was looking for.
"Blue or black?" He asked lifting the Daisy Dukes up. I gasped walking over and snatching them away from him.
"I am NOT wearing those out!!!" I squeaked making him laugh.
"So you're going out with me then?" He inquired smiling cheekily at me. I pursed my lips, sighing and nodding.
"Someone has to keep you from getting into trouble."
"And who best to do that if not Miss O'Malley herself." He said.
"Exactly." I replied giggling. I pulled a gown out; it was pale yellow, a little above the knee. I grabbed a jacket and laid them on the island before turning to Jason who had an innocent look on his face, but I could see right through it.
"What?" He asked when he noticed me staring at him.
Really
I gave him a pointed look before looking at the door. He groaned
"Princess I have seen you naked before."
My ears felt hot but I kept staring at him until he raised his hands in surrender, chuckling before walking out. I undressed and pulled on the gown, spraying a bit of my body spray and pulling on the jean jacket to beat the cold. I grabbed a small satchel bag, making sure all I needed was inside; I paused to transfer my wallet from my backpack to the bag before slipping into my comfortable flats, I was about to walk out of the closet when I remembered my deal with Janice, with a sigh, I walked back to my underwear drawer, pulling it open and plucking the first one my hand touched. I stared at it.
Get on with it Annalise
I removed my comfortable underwear and slipped it on, I didn't bother looking at the mirror because I knew I was going to lose what little courage I had. It was different, not as bad as I thought but it was very breezy.
I let my gown fall back down to my knees, wondering if wearing tights would be considered as cheating but decided against it, i was already breaking a rule, I might as well live a little. With that in mind, I walked out of the closet.
Jason was flipping through my drawing pad; I made a mental note to show him the drawing I made of him.
"I'm ready." I announced making him look up, he froze, the page turned midway.
“Damn Princess, you look good.” He whispered keeping the pad aside and getting to his feet. He slowly sauntered over to me, tugging on my jacket.
“And you smell amazing.”
I cleared my throat and tried to calm my racing heart, Jason always had that effect on me.
“T...thank you.” I replied. He held my hand in his and led me out of my room.
“So where are we going?” I asked as we made our way down the stairs to the front door.
“It’s a surprise.” He replied, I opened the door and we walked out, making sure I locked the door behind us. It was late in the night so I didn’t have to worry about prying neighbours; we made our way down the driveway to the gate.
His truck was parked two blocks down, we walked in silent, holding hands. We finally got to his truck and he opened the door for me, I jumped in and he went around and did the same.
“Ready?” He asked flashing me a grin; I buckled in, glancing at the time. 10.00pm, my parents would kill me if they knew I was out this late, not just with anyone but with Jason Dames.
“Yeah” I answered smiling at him; he switched on the ignition and drove off. I leaned forward and fiddled with the radio, humming in approval when a familiar tune came on.
I leaned back, enjoying the summer air, Jason’s hand came to rest on my bare thigh, my dress had ridden up when I got in and I didn’t bother pulling it back down.
We drove out of Upper Vermont towards Lower Vermont but he took a turn at the junction that led out of town. I frowned shooting him a look; he smiled at me, gently squeezing my thigh as a gesture of comfort.
“We’re leaving Vermont?” I asked quietly, he nodded, glancing at me before looking back at the road.
“Yeah” he answered.
“Jason?” I called, “Huh?”
“Where are we going?” I asked again, I wasn’t exactly worried but I thought we were just going to spend some time together in town but here we were driving out of Vermont.
“Do you trust me?” He asked looking over at me, his grey eyes piercing into my very soul.
I didn’t even need to think about my answer, it came as instinctual as the need to breathe.
“Always”
