"Let me go!" Sheldon is struggling from the grip of James who lifts him like a small bag. "Let him go, James," Denver commanded his assistant. "I saw him go inside your room, Mr. Madrigal," James said. "I'll deal with him. You can go." Sheldon curled up his lips to form a smirk. James left. "And you! Come with me. I told you to wait for me as I will tour you around." Denver said to Sheldon who hesitated to come to him. "I didn't know that was your room. Besides, it takes you too long to talk to my Dad and I get bored." Sheldon pouted his lips and tried to look dramatic. "I got what I wanted, so everything now is not boring." Sheldon thought with a triumphant laugh in his mind. "Then let's go. I'll take you to my playroom." Denver has been suspicious of the kid in front of him. He can't let anyone outsmart him especially if it is just a kid. They then both go to the room that Denver said. It's a large room about the size of two rooms in his villa. "Woooowww! It's so big Mr. Madrigal." Sheldon was so amazed at what he saw inside. "Do you like it?" Denver, whose arms were crossed on his chest, leaning against the door frame of the room was watching Sheldon who was so amazed by his collection. He touched everything he walked at. "I looooove it, Mr. Madrigal," Sheldon responded without even looking at him. "You can come here during weekends if you want." "Really? But I think my Dad won't like that idea." He pouted. "I'll speak to him." "No! I'll do it. I can manage to deal with him. I don't want other people to deal with my problems." Denver shook his head. "This kid." "Okay. It's up to you." "Mr. Madrigal, at what age do you start collecting all these?" "I started to learn how to skateboard at age two according to my uncle. My first motorcycle ride was also the same. So I think that's the same age I started collecting them as my uncle told me he keeps buying me skateboards once a new style comes out. Almost half of them were bought for me." "Why your uncle? Where is your Dad?" A cold expression flashed over Denver's face. "He's busy growing our business." He answered lazily. "How about you? Where is your mom?" Denver took the opportunity to ask the kid. "I told you before that I don't have a mom. My daddy is my mommy too. He can multitask in everything." Sheldon responded. Denver is still not satisfied with his answer. Still, he wasn't able to get what he wanted to know. "Wow! It's like a small science laboratory. Can I try to do some experiments here? Your playroom is awesome, Mr. Madrigal." "You want it, you can stay here sometimes." "I wish too but I'm sure my Dad won't let me stay here. In our school, not everyone can use it." "Which school are you in?" "Hmm, ShingHua! A local school.” "You want to go to a school where you can explore all your talents and students with the same IQ level as yours?" "I wish too, I recommended that to Daddy when I saw it online but he told me that I have to grow like other kids of my age so I have to be in ShingHua." Sheldon pouted. "I will talk to him. If he is worried that he can't afford it, I'll take care of it. I'll pay." "Mr. Madrigal! Thank you so much." Denver gave the kid a thin smile when he saw how delightful he was when he heard that he can go to the school he likes. The beaming face of the kid seemed to bring warmth to his heart. He then left him at his playroom and went back to his study room where Terrence is busy doing the project proposal they're going to present on the incoming bidding. "Are you done?" Terrence jumped off from his seat when he heard Denver's voice just right behind his ears. He is engrossed with his work not even noticing that the young CEO came back. "I'm so sorry if I frightened you." Terrence held his chest and took a deep breath. "I'm fine." "How's it going?" Denver then looks closer to the computer screen. "It's almost done. Where is my son?" "I left him in my playroom," Denver responded. "By the way, he told me that he doesn't like the school he's in. So I told him I'll help him to transfer." Terrence cut whatever Denver wanted to say about the school. "Mr. Madrigal, I think it's not your responsibility to decide where I should send my son to study." He sat down in front of the computer and continued his work. "Well, it's just a suggestion as I can see from your son how dissatisfied he is about his school now. And to think that his intelligence is higher than the other kids, he must be enrolled in a school where the students are on the same level of his IQ. Your son is very competitive and he loves to be challenged." "But I want him to live like a normal kid who at his age, loves to play and make friends not to do stuff that our age can do." "You can't blame him. He was born like that. Do you think he inherited that from you or his mother?" Denver asked but made Terrence straighten his back against his seat. "I think we better not talk about it, Mr. Madrigal. The bidding is next month so we need to prepare things for that, not about my son." Terrence and Sheldon's time for going home. The kid came and Sheldon refused to go home. "Sheldon! Let's go home." "He can stay here if he wants. You can pick him up tomorrow." Denver interfered. "Mr. Madrigal!" Terrence glared at him. Sheldon pouted, arms crossed sulking then he walked ahead towards the main door of Denver's villa. Terrence knows he is upset so he followed him without saying goodbye to his boss. Denver just looked at the father and son walking out of his house. He slammed his butt on the couch and leaned his back massaging his temples. "Mr. Madrigal, that kid......" "Don't say it, uncle Ben." Benjamin didn't finish what he was trying to say as Denver stopped him. "Sorry!" Benjamin then left his master. "James !" Denver called his assistant. "Yes, Mr. Madrigal?" "Investigate the father and son." "Yes, Mr. Madrigal. Right away!" James then immediately left to do what Denver told him. An hour later he came back, went straight to the study room where Denver was waiting for him. "Mr. Madrigal, there is no data regarding any record of Mr. Saavedra and his son. As stated on his bio data submitted to the company, he is single but I found out that Sheldon is his sole beneficiary. He studied in Massachusetts and became friends with the model Dexter. That's all I got." James reported his gathered information about Terrence. "How about Sheldon?" "No information about his parents. As we all know he is Terrence's son as Mr. Saavedra told us." Denver feels like he got a sudden headache thinking about his new Marketing Director. He doesn't understand why he had a feeling he can't even tell what it is. "Mr. Madrigal, pardon me for asking but....do you like Mr. Saavedra?" James is taken aback as Denver glared at him. "James, just continue to look for that person six years ago." "I'm doing it Mr. Madrigal, but six years is quite a long time and we haven't found any clue of that person." "Just do what I said." "Okay! But are you sure that he is a man?" James is still confused about the person his boss is looking for. "James, one more question I'm going to fire you!" James stopped asking though he knows Denver won't fire him. He is one of the most trusted people. He knows no secret of his boss and he knows himself how loyal he is to him. He is used to his personality for years working with him. Meanwhile, in the taxi, Terrence is looking at Sheldon through the rearview mirror as he is seated in the front seat, next to the driver. His son hasn't spoken to him since they left his boss' house. He knows how upset his son is. Terrence heaved a sigh and turned his eyes on the road. When they reached home, Sheldon went straight to his bedroom. "Sheldon ah, have your dinner before going to your room," Terrence said. "I'm not hungry!" Sheldon replied. He is telling the truth as in Denver's house the helpers keep giving him snacks and he's having fun looking at those helpers who alternately come to him and give him what he wants while they keep staring at him. He enjoyed it as he knows the reason why they keep staring at him. But he likes most the man named Benjamin who told him to call him grandpa. He pampered him like his own grandson. And Benjamin told him that he has been working with Denver since he was a child and told him stories about him. Terrence that night is eating dinner alone. While having his dinner he keeps thinking about what Denver told him about Sheldon. "He's right but I want Sheldon to live a normal life." He heaved a sigh as he thought of his son. His tears flowed as he felt being left alone. "Dad, how I wish you were here." He finished his food while sobbing. After they wind up their kitchen and check all the windows to ensure it's locked he went upstairs. He went inside Sheldon's room before going to his room. He runs his fingers on Sheldon's hair which covers his forehead and pecks him for a kiss. "He must be tired." He thought. "Daddy... Daddy...." Sheldon speaks in his sleep. "I want my other Daddy!" He said that made Terrence stop from standing up. "I'm sorry, baby. I have no idea where your daddy is. But maybe someday we will meet him. But I am afraid. I don't want to lose you." Terrence mumbled as he hugged his son. When he thought that Sheldon was fine he turned on the bedside lamp and went towards the door. Sheldon half-opened his left eye to see Terrence and smiled triumphantly. "He will try to find my Daddy and the game begins." He chuckled. A day before the bidding that Madrigal Corporation is going to participate with Terrence, came. James arrived at Denver's office panting like being chased by a mad dog. "Mr. Madrigal, someone is trying to hack the company's site and sabotage the proposal we're going to present tomorrow at the bidding." "And who did that? Did you call Chris?" Chris Yap is a doctor. He works at the hospital owned by the Madrigals. He is one of Denver's childhood friends. They studied in the same school owned by the Madrigal Family. He is a doctor but with expertise in tracking down IP addresses and retrieving hacked accounts. "I'm here!" Chris, still in his doctor's suit, came with his laptop in hand. He immediately opened it on Denver's table opposite his seat and they started tracking down the site where the hacker continued destroying their proposals. Denver and James looked intently as they saw how the culprit crashed the site faster than Chris. "He is so fast," Chris said. "Mr. Madrigal, not only this. I heard TX Company will join the bidding too." "Really?" Denver was surprised, as in Manila, Madrigal Corporation is a leader in terms of revenues and when Denver took over as CEO, the success of the company skyrocketed to make them on top among all companies in the country. But there's only one company that didn't try to cross their paths, it's the TX company. Almost all the company's wanted to be their partner except for this one. And knowing they will join the same bidding is something new for him. "I gave up! This one is so difficult. For the first time, I felt it was so hard to retrieve. Seems that the culprit knows we are counter-attacking him now." Chris Yap slammed his hands on the table beside his laptop. "I'll take over." Denver then sat down on the chair and started typing at a high speed trying to match the speed of the hacker. "He's really fast but I think I can do it." In Terrence's house, Sheldon is sitting on their couch with his laptop on his lap. A mischievous smile painted on his face. "I'll give you a headache but I trust my Dad, he can do it." He mumbled to himself as he works on his qwerty keyboard at his quickest speed. "I know it's you. Hehe!" He enjoyed what he was doing until he lost. "Never mind, I gave him a hard time today but next time I'll win." He closed his laptop and took his phone and dialed his Dad's number. "Yes, baby?" Terrence answered the other line. "What time are you coming home today?" He asked. "I don't know yet as my boss called me upstairs as there's some problem with our proposal for tomorrow's bidding." "So you mean, he asked you for overtime again?" "No, he didn't." "Okay!" "I'm here in his office now so I'll cut the call baby as I need to work." "Wait! You mean you're in his office and he is there?" "Yes! Why?" "Nothing Daddy. Bye-bye!!" "Your son?" Denver asked Terrence. "Yes Sir!" He responds while sorting out the papers they need for the presentation the next day. "Mr. Saavedra, can you just call me by my name?" "But, Sir!" "Denver." "Okay, Si....err.....Denver." Terrence just followed what his boss said though he doesn't understand why he wants him to call by his name. "Good! By the way, thanks and you agree for Sheldon to go to the school where his intelligence is been recognized." Sheldon has been admitted to the school where Denver graduated. At first, Terrence refused, especially when he knew that all students who graduated in that school must work under Madrigal Company in the future and Terrence didn't like it. He wants his son to decide on his own when he grows up. Denver assured him that that wouldn't apply for Sheldon so he agreed with him to admit to that school. As days passed, he saw how Sheldon enjoyed himself and was satisfied. "Thank you so much, Denver. I don't know how to repay you as you don't want to deduct it from my salary." Terrence said with a little embarrassment. "No worries. I am the one who offered it so don't worry about payments. I put him under my scholarship program so he doesn't need any payment." Denver responds as he looks at him intensely. "Again, thank you so much." "You're most welcome, Terrence." "I got to go to Denver. I need to go home as soon as I finish work. Sheldon is alone at home." "I'll send you home." "Huh?!" "You heard it right. I'll send you home." Denver chuckled as he saw the surprised expression of Terrence. "I can go home by myself Sir...I mean Denver." "I insist." Terrence just shrugged his shoulders and went to the door to go out but it's locked outside. "Denver, the door is locked. I can't go out. Maybe James forgets that I'm here." "I'm here, no worries. I will call James now." Denver then dialed his assistant's number. "Sorry Terrence, we have to wait at least thirty minutes before James arrives as he went out to do something very important. You can have a seat first." Denver said as he cut his call to James. Terrence sat down at the couch not far from Denver's working table. He felt bored doing nothing and unconsciously drifted into sleep. Denver got up and walked closer to the couch. "You're really pretty. Your beauty is ethereal. If I don't know you're a man, I may think you're a woman. You're so adorable." He stood there for a few moments thinking what to do until he decided to carry Terrence in a bridal style and took him to his private room. Lay him down on his bed there. Took off his shoes and put him on a blanket. "I don't understand why I felt something strange when I think of you. I felt that there's some connection between us but, what?" Denver then slowly left and gently closed the door and went back to his work.
