We are now at Xhylem's office here at the X headquarters. And as soon as we sat down, he immediately told us everything on how this organization started without Ashen being notified.

Xhylem didn't really plan anything to fight the ZeRL or even the parasites.

Because first, he doesn't have the ability to see the parasite anymore. Second, even though he has a plan, he doesn’t have resources that he can use at his disposal. And lastly, he still can’t leave the Ryougi because they are trusting him to protect Vierra, not only from the bad people who are after their family, as well as the parasites that are already spread around the world.

At doon na nagsimula ang pagbuo sa X.

“It has been five years since I started this organization and we manage to build at least one headquarters per country,” pagpapatuloy ni Xhylem. “But our progress is much slower than I anticipated.

“Well, parasites have the ability to evolve so you can’t really expect that things will be the same when you start fighting them,” sabi ko. “The moment that they learn about you people who were out there and exterminating them, they started to learn things that will help them survive if they encounter you.”

And that is how parasites work.

They will evolve and evolve until they reach the certain level where they manage to be on their own. Without feeding on human’s negative energy.

Pero wala pa naman akong nae-encounter na parasites na naka-reach ng pinakamataas nilang level kaya hindi ko pa din alam kung hanggang saan nga ba ang kakayahan ng mga nilalang na ito.

“But then, we heard about you,” ani Xhylem na ikinakunot ng noo ko.

“What do you mean?”

“We heard that you are the last parasite vessel that the ZeRL has been working on,” sambit niya. “We heard that even though your body was in a complete mess, you managed to get out of their headquarters together with the other subject that they have been using. Aside from that, you also manage to delete most of their data and that is the main reason why they keep looking for you despite the fact that you cannot longer become the vessel for the parasites that they are creating.”

Nang gabing iyon, hinang-hina ang buong katawan ko at hindi na talaga ako makagalaw dahil kakatapos lang ng isa sa mga session ng experiments sa akin.

Kaya nga hindi na nag-abala pa ang mga tauhan ng ZeRL na i-restrained ako sa pag-aakala na wala na akong magagawa pa laban sa kanila.

At siguro, iyon ang pagkakataon na sinamantala ni Umi upang bigyan ako ng lakas na muling makagalaw nang sa gayon ay makaalis ako sa impyernong lugar na iyon.

I also cause fires in different parts of the laboratory and that makes them busy so I use that opportunity to let other human subjects escape.

Then, we stayed underground for a while to hide from the ZeRL. And when I saw an opportunity, I joined an undercovered agency which let me earn a huge amount of money that helps me buy the perfect place for people like me to hide.

And it is the island where my friends and my children currently live.

“Aside from that, you have the ability to kill parasites without using any anti-parasites weapon,” dagdag ni Xhylem. “And it is the main reason why I want you in this organization.”

“That wasn’t me,” sabi ko. “It was because of Umi, the high level parasite that has been living inside my body for twenty one years. And I am already part of the X now.”

“I know,” he said. “And I am thankful that you consider it despite the conflict that you and Umi have because your body can’t keep up with her power.”

“Well, training like this is not really helping so I am thinking of letting her use my body more often,” paliwanag ko. “Iyon lang kasi ang nakikita kong paraan nang sa gayon ay unti-unting masanay ang katawan kong ito sa kanya at sa lakas na mayroon siya. I just have to make sure that she won’t get too excited so that the defense mechanism in my body will not trigger to shut her down again.”

“Wait…” Napalingon kami kay Ashen na nakakunot ang noo at bakas ang matinding pagkalito. “Sino si Umi? And what the hell are you talking about her taking over Katana’s body?”

Bumaling sa akin si Xhylem. “You still didn’t tell him?”

Umiling ako. “Ikaw na ang magpaliwanag sa kanya.”

Bumuntong hininga na lang siya at sinimulang ipaliwanag sa kanyang kapatid ang lahat ng bagay tungkol sa akin at kay Umi.
