Vedh Balon leaned against the railing, crossing his arms, and regarded her with a gentle smile. "Don't worry. She'll be here soon." He spoke softly, and she pouted sadly, gazing at the ground while memories of her classmate and best friend, Geet Balon, flooded her mind. Geet had left the city to pursue a medical degree. "And why were you waiting for me?" He asked with curiosity. Ashu Davies beamed at him, her smile radiant. "Guess." "Of course, you got the job." He replied confidently. Ashu Davies grinned brightly and nodded enthusiastically. Her face glowed with joy and satisfaction. "You were right. Today was my final interview in the struggle for success. Starting tomorrow, I'll pave my path to success." Vedh Balon gave her a warm smile and gave her a gentle pat on the shoulder. "You're confident and smart. I know you'll succeed in everything you do. I'm really proud of you." His words were genuine and comforting. Ashu Davies returned his smile, feeling a mix of emotions, but couldn't find the right words to thank him. She looked down at the ground, trying to hide the tears welling up in her eyes, though Vedh Balon knew her too well to be fooled. He gently ruffled her hair and felt a knot in his throat. He wanted to offer her words of encouragement and give her a comforting hug, but hesitated for some reason. He stood there, lost in his thoughts, when she suddenly turned around and walked away from the balcony. "I should go now. You need some rest." Her voice quivered, and he couldn't bring himself to call her back and talk to her. Ashu Davies gathered the tiffin boxes and left the apartment with a heavy heart. The next morning… Ashu Davies entered the office and made her way to the reception counter. Her fame from the previous day's interview had preceded her, so there was no need for introductions. The receptionists greeted her warmly with bright smiles and directed her to the cabin, accompanied by Jo Gu, the director's assistant. Jo Gu welcomed her with a respectful smile and led her to her personal cabin, where she would handle her work and responsibilities. As her designated trainer, Jo Gu had his workload increased, but he approached the task with diligence. Ashu was provided with a personal laptop and computer, and Jo Gu began acquainting her with the primary information about the company's operations. While the finance branch was new and the work was unfamiliar to Jo Gu himself, he was committed to delivering his best in training her. Laksh Wilson had relieved him of his previous responsibilities so that he could focus on this important task. "Miss Davies, it's lunchtime now. You can take an hour to relax and enjoy yourself," Jo Gu informed her. Ashu Davies smiled gratefully and nodded. Jo Gu turned to leave the cabin but suddenly stopped and turned back to face her. Ashu Davies stood up, her expression curious. "What's the matter, Mr. Jo? Did you forget something?" she asked. "Did you know we have a spacious canteen on the third floor? And there's a beautiful terrace exclusively for senior employees. The food there is incredibly delicious. I suggest you go there and enjoy your meal amidst the romantic ambiance, with fountains and music," Jo Gu explained. "Oh, I brought my own lunchbox," Ashu replied. "That's alright. You should still go and have a peaceful meal there. The atmosphere will enhance your dining experience," Jo Gu insisted with a smile. Ashu Davies smiled back and nodded slowly. "Alright, I'll give it a try." Jo Gu left the cabin, leaving Ashu to contemplate his suggestion. She felt content with the staff's warm behavior, and her eagerness to learn and grow further intensified. However, hunger consumed her thoughts at that moment. She walked over to the couch, placed her lunchbox on the table, and headed to the washroom to wash her hands. After a few minutes, she returned from the washroom and settled on the couch, ready to enjoy her meal. The enticing aroma filled the cabin, and a smile played on her lips as she glanced at her favorite food. Just as she was about to take a bite, her eyes widened in surprise as she spotted a familiar face. 8. Slowly, Ashu lowered her arm, closed her mouth, and looked at the man before her, speechless. Laksh Wilson, with his striking blue eyes, moved his gaze slowly and let out a chuckle. "You can go ahead and eat," Laksh Wilson said, gesturing towards her lunch. Ashu Davies looked at him with a mixture of curiosity and recognition. She spoke in a soft and pleasant voice, "I feel like I've seen you before. Do we know each other?" Laksh snorted and nodded slowly, acknowledging her observation. "I'm the one who wasted your time yesterday." Ashu rolled her big, beautiful eyes and recollected the incident. "Ah, yes. Thank you so much," she replied sarcastically. Laksh raised an eyebrow and smirked. "You're thanking me for wasting your time?" Realizing her mistake, Ashu quickly corrected herself. "No, I mean, you were helpful yesterday." Laksh nodded with a positive expression and stood up from the couch, placing his hands in his black pant pockets. He stepped closer to her, locking eyes with her. "Don't you think you should thank me differently?" he asked, his voice carrying a playful undertone. "Huh..." Ashu was caught off guard, completely taken aback. Laksh glanced at the food on the table, its delicious aroma filling the air. He chuckled and took a seat in front of her. "Can I have a taste?" he asked, not waiting for her response as he began eating from her lunchbox. Ashu was still in a daze, her gaze fixated on this handsome stranger who was helping himself to her meal without even asking for permission. "What are you doing?" she finally managed to ask, snapping back to reality. "I think I'm eating," he replied casually, not bothering to look at her. Ashu was shocked by his audacious and carefree behavior. She felt the urge to scold him for his actions but remembered her mother's advice. She sighed softly and continued watching the delicious food before her. Once Laksh finished his meal, he wiped his mouth with a tissue and looked at the astonished woman. "From now on, bring lunch for me as well," he stated. Ashu narrowed her eyes and opened her mouth to speak, but before she could utter a word, Laksh stood up, flashing an attractive smile at her. She found herself momentarily speechless. "Thank you for the tasty meal, Miss Davies. See you tomorrow at lunch," he said with a wink, leaving her surprised and open-mouthed. This guy was something else. As he chuckled and started walking towards the door, she couldn't resist standing up from the couch and addressing him unhappily. "Stop right there." Laksh chuckled, expecting her unhappy tone. He turned around, slipping his hands back into his pockets and meeting her gaze. "Who are you? How dare you behave this way with me? If you wanted to eat, you should have gone to the canteen," she scolded him. "Oh, really? I thought the food here was tastier than in the canteen," he chuckled, teasingly avoiding her questions. "Hello..." Irritated, she called out to him again. He stopped but didn't face her, enjoying teasing her while trying not to burst into laughter. "Who are you?" she asked, panic evident in her voice. She even contemplated filing a complaint against him. Just then, the cabin door swung open, revealing Jo Gu. He halted in the doorway, noticing the director preparing to leave. "Sir, lunch is ready," Jo Gu infirmed. Ashu widened her eyes in shock and panic, shifting her gaze to the tall man. Laksh turned around, looking at the beautiful woman with his deep, blue eyes. "I'm already full. Please serve Miss Davies," he said elegantly before leaving. Jo Gu glanced at the empty tiffin box, then shifted his gaze to the woman, who seemed slightly unhappy. "What was he saying? Did he finish your meal?" Jo Gu approached her in shock. "Yes," Ashu replied, looking at him with confusion. "What just happened here?" Jo Gu asked in a panicked tone, noticing her pale expression. Was she afraid of him? "I don't know. He suddenly came in and started eating from my lunchbox." Jo Gu looked at her for a moment, then burst into uncontrollable laughter "What's so funny? Why are you laughing like that?" Ashu questioned, perplexed. Waving his hand dismissively, Jo Gu shook his head while continuing to laugh. "I get it now. He asked me to send his meal to you. Wait here." Still laughing, he left the cabin, leaving her speechless and annoyed. After a while, a waiter dressed in a crisp white uniform entered with a trolley, serving a variety of delicious dishes on the table. Ashu looked at the dishes, then turned her gaze to the waiter. "Do you need anything else, Madam?" the waiter asked. Ashu shook her head and began to enjoy the sumptuous meal. As she savored each bite, she couldn't help but wonder about the man who had forsaken his own grand meal in favor of her humble lunch. Who was he, and why did he do such a thing? In the cabin… "How's the progress?" Laksh Wilson leaned back in his chair, his deep blue eyes fixed on Jo Gu, who stood before him.
