In the Wilson Group of Company’s headquarters…
Laksh Wilson's piercing blue eyes locked onto the man before him, who nodded in acknowledgment. With a slow movement, the man retrieved his mobile phone. Meanwhile, Laksh Wilson shifted his gaze, directing it towards the expansive glass wall that offered a breathtaking view. Hands casually tucked into his pockets, his handsome face carried an air of intrigue and allure.
"Hello," the sweet voice echoed through the speakerphone, its pleasant tone reaching Laksh Wilson's ears.
"Am I speaking to Miss Davies?"
"Yes, may I ask who's calling?" Ashu Davies responded, her voice lowering with confusion.
"Madam, my name is Jo Gu, calling from the Wilson Group of Companies. I'm pleased to inform you that you have been selected for the position of Deputy Manager in the finance department of our company. As you mentioned in your application that you can join immediately, may I inquire about the date you can commence your employment?"
Ashu Davies's eyes widened in surprise, her voice catching in her throat.
"Madam, are you still there?" Jo Gu asked, seeking confirmation.
"Huh?"
"Which day would be suitable for your joining, madam?" he repeated his question.
"May I confirm the position you mentioned?" Ashu Davies sought clarification.
"The position is Deputy Manager," Jo Gu replied.
"I'm sorry to say, but there seems to be a misunderstanding. I did not apply for that position," she responded sadly, ready to end the call.
"I understand your confusion, madam. However, based on your efficiency and knowledge, we would like to offer you the position of Deputy Manager instead of the one you applied for," Jo Gu explained.
"Are you certain?," she hesitantly expressed, her voice trembling slightly.
"Yes, madam. Congratulations," Jo Gu confirmed.
Her throat became dry, and she started to tremble.
"Thank you. I can start tomorrow," she replied hesitantly.
"Kindly bring your original documents for verification and a copy. Also, provide your bank details for salary registration," Jo Gu requested.
"Understood."
"Do you have any further inquiries?" he asked.
"Huh? No. No. Wait. Yes. Um... what time should I arrive, and whom should I report to?"
"Please arrive at nine tomorrow morning. Inform the reception, and they will direct you to my office," Jo Gu instructed.
"Thank you."
"Have a good day."
Jo Gu ended the call, satisfied, and turned to face his director's imposing figure.
"Very well. You may leave now," Laksh Wilson spoke with a deep voice, and Jo Gu exited the elegant cabin.
Laksh Wilson chuckled softly, parting his thin, pink lips.
"Ashu Davies," he uttered her name affectionately and thoughtfully.
Ashu Davies couldn't contain her happiness after receiving the call. She was both amazed and confused about how she managed to secure such a senior position. When she got the call, she was already at home, so she quickly rushed to inform her mother, Hina Davies. Hina was delighted for her daughter's success, and Ashu promised to overcome all their problems and lead a happy life in the future.
In the evening, Ashu cooked dinner and periodically checked the parking lot to see if Vedh Balon had arrived. However, his large car was not there until late at night. Hina entered Ashu's room and saw her standing by the window, waiting for Vedh Balon. Hina smiled warmly and approached her.
"He's a great doctor, dear. He must be busy. You should get some rest," Hina advised, gently placing her hand on Ashu's shoulder. Ashu turned her head and looked at her mother seriously.
"Are you happy, Mom?" Ashu asked sincerely.
"How could I not be happy, my dear?" Hina replied with a warm smile, caressing Ashu's head lovingly. "How can a mother not be happy when she has a daughter like you? I am overjoyed to witness your progress."
Ashu smiled and held her mother's warm hand that was on her head.
"Mom..." Ashu struggled to express her emotions and ended up tightly embracing her. Hina tenderly caressed and patted her back for a while.
Just then, they heard a car horn and looked out of the window. Vedh Balon's car entered the parking lot, and both mother and daughter smiled.
"He's back. It's quite late. I'll warm up a meal for him. You go and talk to him," Hina suggested.
"Okay, Mom."
Hina hurriedly left the room, and Ashu looked at the elegant car with a gentle smile. Vedh Balon stepped out of the car while talking on the phone, and habitually glanced at the window of Ashu's apartment.
Unbeknownst to him, she was already standing there with her bright smile. He lowered his arm and smiled subtly when she waved her hand at him. Ashu signaled that he should go to his place, as she would come to see him there. He nodded with a bright smile, continued his conversation on call, and walked towards his residence. Ashu gazed at his tall figure from the window, contemplating the value of their friendship. He had nearly saved her that night. With a beaming smile, she turned back to head to the kitchen and see what her mother was doing.
In the Wilson Villa…
Laksh Wilson emerged from the bathroom, clad in a sleek black bathrobe, and let out a deep sigh as he gently towel-dried his lustrous, ebony hair. The sight of that enchanting and captivating girl had left him feeling strangely unsettled. He eagerly anticipated the following morning, when she would grace the office with her presence, allowing him to steal glances at her whenever he desired. Discarding the towel on the couch, he made his way to the balcony, his fair complexion radiating a subtle glow after his refreshing shower. His tousled locks possessed a captivating charm, capable of captivating hearts at first sight. Gazing up at the velvety night sky, he wore an irresistibly attractive smile upon his lips.
Her eyes, deep and innocent, held an irresistible allure. Her body, gracefully curved, boasted a slender figure that possessed an undeniable allure. Her long, silky tresses cascaded down like a fragrant brown waterfall, emanating an alluring scent that lingered in his memory. The delicacy of her thin, rosy lips was nothing short of mesmerizing. Whenever he recalled her panicked yet exquisitely beautiful face, he couldn't help but feel a surge of admiration. Her delicate nose perfectly complemented her features, adding to the overall charm of her countenance. Her sweet voice, like a melodious tune, held an enchanting quality that resonated deep within him. And that pleasant smile of hers, like a burst of sunshine, had the power to brighten his entire world. Her courage, intelligence, and excellence further heightened her allure, leaving him captivated by her every virtue and quality. She was undeniably magical in every sense.
Laksh Wilson let out a soft snort and shook his head, adorned with that irresistible smile. He chided himself for being consumed by thoughts of her. Why was he increasingly drawn to her, unable to escape her allure? It was a perplexing state of affairs, indeed.
...
"Hey Vedh..." Ashu Davies knocked on the door and called out to him.
In an instant, he swung the door open, his face lighting up with a warm smile as he glanced at the tiffin box she held in her hand.
"Let me in." She huffed, feeling a tad annoyed.
"Oh..." He stepped aside, allowing her entry into the house. She hurried towards the dining table, and he followed, observing her every move.
"What's going on?"
"Mom sent dinner. Let's dig in."
Vedh grinned at her and took a seat. She sat across from him, eyeing him in surprise.
"You're really famished."
"I was in the operating theatre for four long hours and then had to rush back home. Didn't even have time to grab a glass of water."
"So that's why you were late."
"You were waiting for me?"
"Obviously."
A warm feeling washed over Vedh Balon, but he chose not to express it.
"You're quite the hard worker." She smiled at him.
"Thanks."
"Now, eat up. I've got a surprise for you."
"Really? When did you become so mischievous, like Geet?"
Ashu Davies's mouth dropped open, ready to scold him, but when she realized he said 'Geet,' she smiled sadly.
"I wish I could see Geet. We used to talk every day and laugh together."
Vedh Balon smiled but remained silent.
"What? You're the reason she's not here."
"Me?" He stunned.
"Yes, you."
"What did I do? She wanted to become a doctor, and that's why I sent her abroad."
Ashu Davies narrowed her eyes in annoyance.
"She didn't want to leave the city. She wanted to study here, and you never once listened to her." She argued.
Vedh Balon sighed and wiped his mouth.
"She'll be back soon." Realizing her anger might escalate, he decided to spill the secret.
"What? What did you say?" She asked, shocked.
"She's returning for a few days."
"Oh... When... Tell me."
Vedh Balon remained silent and headed straight for the balcony.
Unable to contain her excitement, Ashu Davies rushed after him.
"Vedh... Please tell me the truth. At least give me her contact number so I can talk to her."
She momentarily forgot that Geet Balon's university had strict rules against contacting family during her studies.
Vedh Balon looked at her, offering a faint smile and nodded slowly.
"If it were possible, don't you think I would've contacted you?"
Ashu Davies snapped back to reality, remembering the university's restrictions.
"I'm sorry." Her sadness grew as she realized her irritation towards him.
"But I really want to talk to her." She expressed her sorrow.
