“Sarah, Sarah can you hear me?” a male’s voice echoed in her ears. She didn’t want to open her eyes; she was afraid she was still with the demons. “Please open your eyes, you are safe now.”
Sarah opened her eyes, to a face she knew, but she didn’t know him. Her head hurt, her body too.
“There’s your eyes.” He spoke. “I am Carlos. Can you speak?”
“Yeah.” She said trying to sit up, but she was too weak. Looking down at her hand, a cut still there. It hurt like hell. “What happened?”
“The demons released you.” He said gently picking her up. “I have a feeling they’ve done something to you. Do you remember what they did?”
“Something about destroying my pure blood line.” She said closing her eyes. She hoped the demons didn’t know about her daughter, she was afraid they did.
“Oh, I see.” Carlos said laying her on a bed. “I will have to tell Michael.”
“No.” she said shaking her head. “You have to find my daughter.” She said looking at him. “I had her ten years ago.”
“Do you know if Dremis and Marcus know about her?” he said sitting back down.
“I hope not.” She said with tears forming in her eyes. “Please Dremis will figure this out. He used the binding spell on me, he will know where I am.” She said shaking her head, he will find her before you do if you don’t hurry.”
Carlos cleaned her wound on her hand, and left her laying in bed. She was still too weak to do anything, so he wasn’t worried Dremis would come back for her. He needed to let Michael know about Sarah’s daughter.
Sarah slowly got out of the bed, she needed to find her book, Dremis said the book would forget her, but she didn’t believe him. She wondered if she could go back to his realm and stop him from doing anymore harm/
“Good you made it through the ritual.” Dremis said appearing in the corner. “I know about your daughter, it’s only a matter of time I find her.” He said walking closer to her. “I promise your bloodline will be finished.”
“You can try.” She said walking closer to him. “This spell you’ve cast on me, it will be countered. My Mother was a strong witch, once I remember everything she taught me, my book will return and I will return the favor to you. The only part is, I am going to disable your existence.”
“Oh aren’t you the optimistic one.” He said stroking her face. “You can’t hit anyone with your pathetic magic, I better go have to catch your daughter.” He said disappearing.
“f**k!” she said walking away from the window, she needed to find Carlos. They had to find her daughter before he did. She knew they were running out of time. She knew where the family lived, at least state wise.
“Carlos!” she called from the top of the stairs, she didn’t know where she should look for him. He popped out of a room downstairs, with another man. “Dremis knows about my Daughter, you need to find her before he does.”
“We’re working on it, the Angels didn’t know about your daughter.” He said walking up the stairs. “I promise you I will find her before he does.”
“You missed me by thirty seconds, the only difference is I know where she might be. I cannot wait for you.” She said disappearing and reappearing in Wyoming. “Wow I didn’t think that was going to work.”
“So you do have gifts.” Dremis appeared with Marcus. “So the little girl is somewhere here.” He said looking at her, Marcus grabbed her by the arm.
“I would be careful demon.” She hissed him him, pulling her arm away from him. “I may not be strong yet, but when it comes to my family you bet your ass I will try.”
Dremis watched her curiously, he knew she had power brewing inside her, that is why Legion wanted her line wiped out. He knew she would try and stop him from killing her daughter, he had to be careful though since she spoke the ancient angelic language.
Sarah didn’t want to lead them to her daughter, but she knew Dremis was attached to her. She thought about leading them on a wild goose chase just so it gave Carlos and his angel a chance to get the small girl safely away from them.
“I wouldn’t.” Dremis said walking closer to her. “I can hear your thoughts, you’ve told the angels about your daughter, but you didn’t tell them where she is. Now we are going to play a game, whoever finds her first, will get to take her. I promise to play far.” He said flashing a smile.
“Oh, I doubt that.” She snapped. “You’re a demon, there isn’t playing anything fair in your soul. Otherwise, the angels would try and turn you to go.”
“Good point.” He said grabbing her, pulling a dagger out. “Just remember I get to her first, she dies.” He said disappearing from her.
She closed her eyes, trying to find her daughter. She wasn’t sure if it would work, but she didn’t have a choice. She hoped Dremis would catch on to her energy before she could locate her.
“Found you.” She said closing her eyes and reappearing in front of their house.
Screaming from inside the house, forced Sarah to run and open the door. Dremis and Marcus stood there. The man was down and unconscious. Marcus had a lady with a dagger to her throat, Dremis had her daughter.
“Don’t you do it Dremis.” Sarah growled.
“I have to.” He said with a smile on his face.
Before he was able to summon the dagger and take the girl out, she spoke her spell to return her daughter to her. “filia revertetur ad me.” Her Daughter was in her arms. “I told you demon; you cannot hurt her.” She growled. “Your spell was only temporary; I am free from you.” She said disappearing.
They reappeared where Carlos was. “Sarah!” he said looking at her shocked. “You found her?”
“Yes.” She said looking down at the small girl she was scared, but it was like she knew who she was. “I couldn’t wait, if I would have waited any longer she would have been dead. I am sure her adopted parents are dead.”
Carlos looked at her, and then Sarah. “So what do we need to do?”
“Take her somewhere safe, Dremis isn’t going to stop looking for her until she is dead. There is a war coming, and I want her safe.”
“Done.” A unfamiliar voice said coming into the room. “I am Michael, I will see to it she is protected. You have done well Sarah.” He said bowing to her. “However, she isn’t just the one in danger, Dremis wants you too.”
“I know, but I know my gifts. I can avoid him.” She said looking at him. “I know I am risking leaving here, but if I keep Dremis and Marcus away from you, then you have a chance to give her a normal life. You have to keep my line going, and you know this.”
“Yes but at the cost of your life?”
“Yes.” Sarah said kneeling down. “You have to go with the Angels, you will be something great when you are older. We have a bad war coming up, promise you will not be scared.”
“I’m not.” The little girl said. “I’ve dreamt about you.” She said touching her face. “I know you are my mommy.”
“What is your name little one?” Carlos said looking at her and then Sarah.
“Sarah.” She said looking at Carlos, and then Sarah. “My adopted parents told me the truth about six months ago. They said I was named after my mom because she was so strong for doing what she had to do to make sure I had a safe home.” She said touching Sarah’s face again. “I have magic too.”
Hearing the little girl say that, broke her heart. She knew she had to leave, but she didn’t want to.
“Alright, I should take her to a realm the demons cannot get to. I will keep her there until her magic is strong enough. Any future generations I will do the same with.” Michael said walking closer to the little Sarah. “I promise Sarah she will be safe.” Michael disappeared with little Sarah.
