Chapter 5. Lileth

The next morning , Sophia woke up at the sound of her alarm clock . She had a headache because she did not sleep well last night. She's thankful that she was able to set her alarm clock. She will be meeting Lileth this morning. She was thinking if the girl is lovely , like her late Mother that she saw on the portrait yesterday. She couldn't wait to see her. She's kind of nervous ., though .Yes, she grew up in the Lullaby Orphanage, she had a traumatic experience when she lived there for nine years . Parati siyang pinagkaisahan noon. Lileth on the other, hand was pampered. She had a wealthy family. Namatay ang kaniyang ina, kaya labis itong nagdamdam hanggang sa nagbago ang kaniyang pag-uugali. In her case, aside from her suffering in the Orphanage., she lost her adoptive family too. She was 9 year old , ng kunin siya ng mag asawang Mendez for adoption. The couple are childless . They are not rich but Sophia has everything she needed. They can provide her needs , was able to go to private school because Mr. And Mrs Mendez are doing well in their job as Manager in the Real Estate Company. She was blessed to be adopted. They love her and nurtured her .

But she was destined to be living alone she thought. It was summertime when she received a call from a hospital. Her adoptive parents are having a vehicular accident and they didn't make it. Sophia was devastated. When she thought, she had a family to call her own, ay kinuha naman kaagad ito sa kaniya. She was thankful though to experience having parents for eight long years. She was 17 years old at that time when her parents passed away. She's not even 18 years old., but there's nothing else she can do. So yes, I can handle Lileth, she thought. Can I? She silently asked herself. She sighed. Bumalikwas na siya ng bangon at nag shower. She decided to wear a pink one above the knee dress. The dress is simple but elegant to look at. Lileth maybe aloof , but she got an idea that she likes color pink. In Lucian's study last night , she saw a picture of Lileth hanging at Lucian's office. She knew it was Lileth ,Lucian told her. And the girl is wearing a pink dress. Besides, who wouldn't like barbie right? She checked herself in the mirror, she put a light blush on and used nude color lipsticks. After checking herself again she goes outside.

Lucian said breakfast will be served at 7 in the morning. Though, she's not obliged to join the family's meal., it is important for her to comply with the rule of his employer. She was about to turn right to the hallway leading to the dining room, when she bumped into something hard .She closed her eyes and touched her forehead, she felt a little dizzy. , not because of the impact of bumping something but rather someone. She inhaled the minty sweet cinnamon of the scent . It was soothing and calming . She knows the scent belongs to a man . She looked up . , and there she saw a pair of blue eyes staring back at her brown orbs. Her heart is beating rapidly. Lucian is very captivating in his white V neck tee and rugged faded jeans. It is illegal to be very handsome , this guy must be held accountable . "Lu...cian.., " Sophia realized that they had not moved, from their position . From the corner of her eyes she saw his mischievous smirked and his sparkling blue eyes.., making her conscious. She suddenly moved backward, and in doing so, she lost her balance. " Oppss..." Lucian caught her just in time . He was holding her waist perfectly to prevent her from falling. A sudden gush of electricity however, is what Sophia felt when his arms were touching firmly with her body. She only hopes that the light blush on, she had on her face will be enough to cover the redness she knew she had at the moment. She was so embarrassed. What the heck.

"Thanks to you .." She managed to uttered the words but she avoided looking in his eyes.

She straightened herself when she regained her composure. "No worries, .. I'm sorry I didn't mean to bump into you. , " he smiled ..he's hands on his pocket. " "No , It's my fault hindi ako nakatingin sa nilalakaran ko .. but technically speaking , I blame the builders and interior decorator of your home. It's beautiful.! This place is remarkable... that I can't get enough of admiring your home." Sophia smiled.. Hindi nawala ang kaba na nararamdaman. Bakit nga ba ako kinakabahan ? This is weird. " Well, thank you for the compliment. After I'll introduce you to Lily , I'll give you a tour to the whole Villa.." he offered . " " .....but for the meantime, let's have breakfast." Lucian grinned .

Ayokong kasama ka , nagiging abnormal ang t***k ng puso ko... to think na wala pa akong 24 oras dito ..

After their meal , they went to see Lileth"s. She was in the library with her tutor. Sophia was thinking why the poor girl needs a tutorial, when the classes ended two weeks ago.? And it's not even 9' o clock. She needs to rest., just like other students. Lucian introduced her to Mrs. Ramos, Lileth's tutor. The woman was in her 50's she guessed ." Good morning Mrs. Ramos , nice meeting you. " she greeted her. " Nice meeting you too.. " Mrs Ramos replied . Lucian asked a question or two , and then she dismissed her. Then , he introduced Sophia to Lileth. Lileth stands " Lily , this is Sophia ,.. your..." " My future Aunt ,? I'm glad you finally introduced your girlfriend to me , Uncle " Lileth said in a casual manner. And then , she smiled and hugged her. Sophia widened her eyes in shock.! What the hell happened? She looked up to Lucian . Gusto nitong sabihin ang totoo. Na siya ay ang kaniyang magiging p.a at hindi girlfriend. Ano ba ang nag udyok sa batang ito , upang maitanong ang bagay na ito? Girlfriend talaga? Sa loob ng tatlong taon na di pagsasalita ay ukol sa intimate relationship kaagad ang lumabas sa bibig nito? What the hell happened?!

She was very confused. This is not the reaction she was expecting from the girl. The description Lucian told her last night about Lileth is quite alarming. Sabi Niya halos hindi ito nagsasalita. Hindi lumalabas ng kaniyang kwarto. Hindi nga niya lubos maisip kung paano ito makiharap sa kaniyang tutor at yaya , kung hindi namn ito umiimik sa loob ng tatlong taon.?! Nakakaloka. Kahit nabigla siya sa ginawa ng bata ay niyakap din Niya ito. She was looking at Lucian . Judging by his reaction, nabigla din ito sa pagsasalita ni Lileth. " Lily..." . was the only word that came out from Lucian. He was stunned, to say the least. " You are very beautiful , Miss Sophia. Can , I call you Aunt?" Lileth said. Umupo ito, at sumenyas na umupo si Sophia sa tabi Niya. Umupo siya sa tabi ng bata. Nagpabaling baling ang tingin Niya sa mag tiyo. She needs an explanation. But the look in Lucian's face is an indication that he himself is shocked too. He was pleading with her, to go with the flow. Nangumgusap ang kaniyang mga mata Kay Sophia. Good heavens, what I've gotten myself into.! " Yes, you can call me Aunt , if you want to honey.." she swallowed. " "Great! ....Uncle , what took you so long in bringing Aunt Sophia here?"

" She was ..uhmn.. busy Lily."

" Oh, busy .., just like everyone else in the Villa." Nahalata ni Sophia na parang nagbago ang tono nito sa pananalita Lalo na kung paano nito bigkasin ang salitang 'busy' . " Oh no, I will be here to look after you.. like a.. friend? " Sophia interrupted but cursed herself . Bakit patanong. Shades! Lileth seems to be an intelligent young girl. Ang daming tanong ang bumabangon sa isipan ni Sophia. Pinagloloko lang ba siya ni Lucian? . The girl is quite capable. She can't wait to have a word from him.

" A friend ..? But you are my Aunt.."

" Yes, I am your Aunt as well as your friend."

" Okay, and you are my Uncle Lucian's girlfriend." It was a statement. However, the child is waiting for a confirmation.

" I am..." she confirmed. " Okay , I'm glad to meet you .. Aunt Sophie ,..You look like a barbie doll." Lileth said happily. Then she turned her attention to Lucian , who had a hard time processing everything. . " Uncle , ang ganda ganda ni Aunt Sophie , you are so lucky. " Siguro , mahal na mahal mo si Auntie Sophie no? " God forbid, but what source of disorder does this girl have? Poor thing.

"Uncle Lucian , Where's Grandma and Grandpa? " He explained to her that the old couple are in the capital attending important matters. She , then wanted to go to her room and that she wanted Sophia to accompany her. She looked up at Lucian for help. She gets it that taking care of Lileth is supposed to be her job. But , meeting the child, she no longer doesn't know what to do.
