I followed him down the stone hallway until it turned to the light, modern wood. So I didn’t imagine that last night. We didn’t pass anyone in the halls. There were no warriors or guards until we reached the modern build, and although some eyes lingered on me, no one whispered or openly gaped as they did at Blue Moon last night when I was leaving with Zander. He nodded to an Omega. The older woman greeted him with a warm smile and opened the door behind her. I was surprised to find he returned her smile. I followed him into a bright kitchen. It was smaller than any pack kitchen I had seen. There were skylights over the working spaces, and the other part of the room had a circular wooden table and a long padded bench that sat under some of those strange bubble windows I saw last night
