Chapter Three

Now that I knew I was stuck in this place, I wasn’t very eager to leave Grayson’s house. I knew that the wolves would come at me, seeing as they were fighting against my kind. I sat on Grayson’s bed, feeling lightheaded. He had no windows so the sun wasn’t glaring at me but my headache was bad, I didn't finish the bag I drank yesterday and the wolf blood took a lot out of me. I fell back on his bed and struggled to stay awake because I wasn’t sure I would wake back up if I fell asleep. I should have drunken more over the past week but we brought no humans with us to camp and I wanted to save the blood for those fighting but now I regretted that choice. I rolled over on my stomach and crawled my way to the top of his bed, his pillows suddenly looking very comfortable. I buried my head in his pillows and smelled in his pine smell and I was not in the right set of mind. “What are you doing?” His deep voice rumbled. “Smelling this wonderful scent.” I said, rolling on my back. “What are you doing?” I asked him. “Are you okay?” “Perfectly peach perfect.” “What?” “I need blood.” I sighed, my eyelids getting heavy. “What happens if you don't get any?” “I go to sleep for a very long time until I have no more blood left and then I die.” I said pulling a pillow up to me and cuddling up with it. “s**t. What's wrong with you right now? Where the hell is Maya?” I heard him yell and then Maya was suddenly in there. “She’s going through a form of withdraw, she needs blood and soon because she’ll start getting violent before she goes into a coma.” “Who?” “It has to be a human because anyone else would kill her or make her worse.” Suddenly my headache got worse and it was getting irritating. “Can we please be f*****g a little quieter?” I growled but when I looked up no one there. Grayson came in with Maya, two guards, and a human. “What the hell is this?” I asked and the human moved forward. It was a male and he was very large, at least twice my size, his arms were as big as my waist. “You need blood and he is going to give it to you.” “Oh, he’s just going to give me the blood? Seriously, who says I even want his!” I growled. “He’s human, what fight is he going to put up?” I made him kneel to the ground. The wolves stared at me with wide eyes. “He’s useless and he has weak blood, I can smell the weakness from here.” I looked at Grayson and suddenly I was in front of him. “I want you.” And my teeth went into his neck. His blood was so unlike Maya’s; his was so rich and thick. The two guards ripped me from Grayson and he held his neck in surprise. I was still thirsty but I was more clear headed. I called the human to me and I bit into his neck, taking my fill. “I just want to go home.” I said before falling asleep. Cain’s POV “Lana!” I called, heading into the camp. f*****g wolves, sending out a false trail. “Lana!” I called again but no answer. I smelt wolf all over the camp. “Find Lana!” I ordered the vampires. They all spread out and I followed Lana’s trail, which ended with the stink of the wolves. “Dammit!” I yelled. They took Lana; I should have known the moment that there were no wolves that they were after Lana. Charles was going to kill me and I already broke my promise to Lana. “We have to find her at all costs. Follow the wolf scent.” I told my group. I’m coming Lana, and I'll kill every single one of those mutts who took you. Liam’s POV Being a vampire sucked the cravings, my anger and everything about it. I hated Lana so much but I still loved her. Why would she change me, why would she? I mean sure we talked about being vampires but she had to have known that that’s not what I wanted, I would have rather died. “Liam.” Charles said, walking into my room. “Sitting in your room pouting isn’t going to do anything. And I have some news to tell you that you may be upset about or you may be happy about.” Charles looked very upset and tired. “The wolves took Lana while Cain was led on a false trail” “You mean the werewolves have Lana?” “Yeah and Cain said that their trail ended without a trace.” “So Lana is gone?” “Yep.” He said walking out. I knew he was hurting, Lana was supposed to be his soul mate, but how did I feel? Lana was the person I was in love with, even if I was pissed off at her I was still in love with her and I was going to help find her. Maya’s POV Finally, I was at home. I didn't even care that Lana was here because this was my home now, my comfort place. I realized that the reason I acted the way I did was because my wolf side felt cornered, stuck inside the city and the buildings and it had no room to run. Now I had as much room as I want. Now I had Michael, my mate and my love. When they first took me I was pissed and I was ready to kill but the moment we touched my body calmed. I'm not even sure what happened, I just calmed down. Now I knew that I was never meant to stay inside, but I was still going to make Lana’s life a living hell while she is here. Lana’s POV When I woke up, I was all alone. I sat back as the memories flashed at me. Wait I drank Grayson’s blood and I didn't get sick? What the hell is going on in this place? I stood up and opened the door, seeing that all of my guards were gone. I headed down the hall and looked for an exit, only to notice that it had to be about two in the morning, everyone would be sleeping and now would be the perfect time to escape. I walked carefully and found the exit quickly. I opened the door and slipped out but paused when I saw where I was. All the houses were made out of makeshift materials and it looked like a poor man’s village. Is this how the wolves were living? Now is not the time to feel sorry, Lana! I yelled at myself and then slipped out into the woods. I sniffed the air but all I could smell was nature and the wolves, how far away could we be? I thought back to Cain’s maps and remembered that the undiscovered land stretched for miles and I could be in the center right now. I could wander for miles on a limited amount of blood or I could just turn around, I mean I was barefoot. I shook my head and decided to take my chances with the woods. I moved away from the scent of the wolves but about an hour into my walk the smell got stronger, was I near another pack? Damn, I can't get away from these dogs can I? When I entered the clearing, I nearly screamed. “Have a nice walk?” Grayson asked. “Are you f*****g kidding me? How did I end up back here?” “It’s how these woods work if you don't know them, do you really think that we would let you out so easily?” “I could only hope.” I mumbled. “Now, we have some planning to do.” Grayson smirked.
