Hank stayed by Demetrius's side all the way back to London, as did Smokey. The scarred little creature only left to check on Steel now and then, and Hank only left to shovel some coal and make sure Steel got some sleep. There were no storms and if there were any northern lights Hank didn’t see them.
To say Demetrius recovered during the flight would be wrong. He slept most of the time, and when he was awake, he stared at the wall completely ignoring Hank. The slashing wounds were deep, but luckily he’d missed any vital blood vessels.
