Odin, the All-Father, sacrificed one of his eyes in the well of knowledge to become all-knowing. As the All-Father he’s also the Yule Father, and by the end of Yule, the Night of the Mothers is celebrated to honour the ancestral mothers.

Hank couldn’t make sense of what he was seeing. A massive creation was coming up alongside Aurora. A rhythmic chunking sound echoed in the night, almost like a steam train—or a galloping horse Hank realised as the creature came closer. Steam was blowing out of the giant horse’s nostrils, its eyes two black holes, and its eight legs were moving in a whirlwind of motions. The body was perfectly shaped, but the seams and rivets made it look anything but alive.
