Useless Pawn

~ Eros POV ~

“Why are you doing this with us? We only did what your father asked us to do and nothing else, Alpha Eros. My daughter is innocent. She is not the one who is wrong here and yet to slaughter every member of my pack.

Don’t you feel repulsed by the fact that your hands are covered with the blood of innocent people?” The old man dared to lecture me about good and bad while his daughter was looking at me with a hopeful gaze.

Innocent and that too, these people?

I got up from the couch and then I walked toward the greedy Alpha and his daughter. They were sitting on the floor while they were bowing their heads in front of me. I gazed at my hands and they were covered with blood, but people like them can be anything, but innocent.

“Well, not every member, Alpha Ion. You and your daughter are still alive... also a few of your other pack members. As for getting repulsed by the blood... I don’t feel such a thing. On the contrary, I felt repulsed by the sickening artificial scent of your daughter. You should be ashamed of yourself for sending your daughter into my bedroom in the hopes that I might accept her as my Luna.

You do have some big dreams that you want to achieve with the help of your slaughter everywhere is not hot enough to entice me. Let me take a closer look at her. Who knows I might change my perspective about her.” I smirked at them and he just gritted his teeth in anger.

His daughter raised her head and I just grabbed her jaw with the same hand which was covered with the blood of her pack members.

She bit her lower lips when she gazed at me with hazel eyes. I know that my father must have initiated this, but even these people listened to that man without using their own brains.

This is a lesson for every person that wants to make his daughter... my Luna and the pack of the Alpha Ion... every damn person here is worse than a criminal.

His pack is involved in illegal business and he is also an active member of the black market. He had already sold every single girl apart from his daughter at the auction, but instead of selling her off on the market, he sent her to my room. I know that even the elders were involved in this conspiracy, but I am not the one with whom they can play easily.

I clenched the jaw of the woman who dared to attack me in my sleep. She did claim that she loved me, but loving someone always comes with a price and now she has to pay for the same mistake.

“Still not appealing. What a waste.” I cleaned my hands on her white dress.

I forwarded my right hand and one of my people gave me the handgun. I could easily finish him off by strangling him, but I am more accustomed to seeing blood. I don’t want to waste my powers on the likes of him or his daughter. I loathe the kind of hers.

The word mate... just makes me angry to my core.

The bond, the vow and the promise to live together... everything is just a hoax and nothing else.

One of my other men brought a chair for me to sit and he then returned to his original position. I placed the back of the handgun on my forehead whilst I gazed at the pathetic fools.

“I agree that I was a greedy person, but I am still the Alpha and you should give me equal respect. I might be at fault, but you just barged into my packhouse and started annihilating my people and my packhouse. This is no way... Mmmmm.” Ion started blabbering out nonsense, so I simply shoved the muzzle of the handgun inside his mouth.

“Tsk, you talk too much and it’s kind of annoying.” I clicked my tongue while I crouched down on the floor and Alpha Ion just muffled while I placed my index finger on the trigger.

He has such a priceless expression that I want to enjoy it for a few more seconds.

“Still the Alpha? Well, the moment you bowed your head in front of me is enough to tell everyone that you are no longer fit to be called an Alpha. Can’t you see that your remaining pack members are already bowing their heads in front of me? So, should I just pull the trigger?” I asked him with a smile and he immediately started to shake his head as he widened his eyes.

He is such a scaredy-cat. I can’t give him an easy death.

“Alright. I challenge you, Alpha Ion. Let’s see who is going to win in the end.” I whispered to him while I removed the muzzle from his mouth. I then threw the handgun to the side and after getting up from the floor, he rushed towards my direction, but before he could attack me, I dodged his attack.

He again tried to come at me, but this time, I punched him hard across his face and he just fell to the floor. He got up again and this time he tried to throw the flower vase at me, but he missed the aim and I didn’t get even a single scratch.

I rolled up my sleeves and this time I was the one who attacked him first. I grabbed him by his throat and after applying a little strength to my grasp, he started to gasp for air.

“How f*****g easy. You were all seriously talking and here I thought that you might be able to throw a punch, but you failed and that quite miserably. What should I do with you and your opportunist daughter, huh?” I titled my head while I asked him that question with a smirk on my face.

I know what he is thinking. I am an emotionless bastard and I can’t disagree with him. I am indeed a soulless person and that incident where I lost my mate... I just forgot how to survive after losing her. There is no feeling left inside me. I don’t want a chosen mate or any other girl.

While I was holding his throat, suddenly my phone vibrated and I simply picked up the phone call after seeing the name flashing on the phone's screen.

“What are you doing, Eros?” I heard the voice of my friend from the other side of the phone call.

“Just teaching someone a bit more about discipline,” I replied to him and he just started to laugh after hearing my response.

“Alright. After finishing off everything, I want you at my place. I am going to get engaged and I want you at the party.” I threw Ion on the floor and he fell with a thud sound.

“You must have lost your mind about deciding something this stupid. Is it Aria?” I asked him while I corrected the node of my tie.

Claude is one of my childhood friends, but I can’t predict this guy at all. He always does the unthinkable. He didn’t tell anyone about Aria, but I have a hunch about their relationship.

“You will get all your answers when you get here.” He ended the call and I just sighed as I knew that this guy must be planning something. Claude is somewhat similar to me. He always gets the things that he wants and there is nothing that I can’t achieve in this place.

Messing with me is no less than paying for fire.

Suddenly, I heard a sound coming from my behind and when I turned, I saw Alpha Ion. He was holding my handgun and it was pointed toward me. He tried to unlock the safety lock of the handgun and I just smirked at his attempts. I simply sat on the chair which was placed in front of him.

He was kind of confused by my actions, but he didn’t lower the handgun. His hands were shaking and so was he, but he tried to put a brave face in front of me.

“How f*****g predictable. I expected no less from you. The handgun is in your hands, but the question is if you will be able to pull the trigger or not?” I looked straight into his terrified eyes and before he could pull the trigger someone shot him from behind and Ion just fell on the floor while the grey matter of his brain was spattered all over the floor.

“Next time don’t soil my shoes, Axon,” I told my Beta to better be careful next time and he just nodded his head. He asked the others to clean the mess.

“What are you planning to do with her, Alpha?” He asked me and I just got up from my chair.

“We will follow only your orders now, Alpha Eros.” The remaining members of the Ion pack lowered their heads while they bowed to me.

“I heard that Ion even sold off his wife at the auction as she was not able to bear an heir to him. We need to go to the information guild to find the location of her mother. She must have adhered to the elders, so I am letting her go this time. After cleaning there, I went straight to the Blue Blood Pack with the others.” After saying those words to him, I grabbed the girl by her right arm and after dragging her outside of the packhouse, I shoved her inside my car.

She was silent the whole time, but then she suddenly jumped out of the car before we could reach the information guild building. I immediately applied the brakes and after stepping outside the car, I looked up at the sky. The sky is empty. There was no moon and nor were the stars visible. It’s completely covered in darkness... just like my life.

Why did she do such a thing?

While I was walking, suddenly someone jumped on me from my behind and this just made me lose my balance and then I fell to the ground. The girl who jumped out of the car was on top of me and she looked quite satisfied with our current situation.

She opened my top three buttons while she preached about being in love with me, “I did what I did because I loved you, Alpha Eros. No one pressured me to sleep with you. I did it of my own free will, but for some reason, the drug didn’t have any effect on you. Now, you have left me no option.”

The girl tried to run her fingers on my bare chest, so to stop her, I pulled her down and this time, I was on top of her.

“I hate it when people forget their places.” I pinned her hands above her head singlehandedly while I grabbed her throat with my other hand. There were someone’s footsteps, but before I could do anything, the girl started to scream for help.

Suddenly, I heard a sweet voice and that girl was cursing me for trying to attack a girl.

All I did was to protect myself, so what am I wrong here?

When I looked at the girl... everything stopped for me. The moment my eyes met with her green ones, I just forgot to breathe for a moment. Her eyes even have a bit of gold in them. They just look like some precious gemstone... just like an emerald. Her long and beautiful ash-grey hair was blowing in the wind. She then bit her lower lips.

Her sugary lips were kind of juicy and I seriously wanted to taste them, but she was looking mad at me for some reason.

I then got up from the ground and while she was protecting the girl, I just grabbed her wrist with a smirk on my face.

“I must say that you have got some guts, woman,” I whispered to her, but I still didn’t let go of her wrist.

What the f**k am I doing?

I leaned closer to her and that moment, I smelled her intoxicating scent... I knew what was going to happen next. Her aromatic scent is not only filled with a sweet fragrance, but it also has a kind of calming effect.

I messed up big time by smelling her scent.

‘Finally.’ I heard Helios, my wolf’s voice inside my head whilst I balled up my fists.

This can’t happen to me.

I don’t want to be in that position again. Should I silently finish her off? She looks like a fragile girl who could easily break into pieces.

There is no f*****g way that I would accept someone like her. Judging by her expression, I could tell that she had yet to awaken her powers. So, she is a late bloomer or there might be a possibility that she won’t have her powers or even her wolf.

Even if I used her against those elders... she would be nothing more than a useless pawn.

I can’t let her awaken the things that I have buried deep inside me and I won’t let her get closer to me.

“Let go!” The girl ordered me instead of pleading with me.

She has surely got guts which might prove fatal for her future.
