Chapter 8“Are you okay?” Paul asked Steve when there was a lull between customers at the shop Saturday morning. “Yeah, why?” Steve replied. “You’re jumpy and at one point I thought you were going to bite that man’s head off.” “He was being an ass,” Steve grumbled, although he knew Paul had a point. He was nervous about what could happen when he and Jace met with Loman, presuming the man showed up at the bar. His dreams, when he’d finally gotten to sleep, had been filled with all the dire possibilities which had him tossing and turning half the night. “I’m fine, honest,” he added, hoping Paul wouldn’t press the point. He didn’t, and Steve made a concerted effort to remain calm through the remainder of the day, thankful it was busy enough he didn’t have much time to dwell on the ‘what ifs
