Chapter 2

The hot water singed my skin. I liked they the way it burned. I dried off, then went to check on Bane, who was still knocked out. I smiled, hoping when he got up, he would be a little stronger.
I closed the door slowly, making sure it didn't wake him. A couple people rushed past me in a hurry to the courtyard. I followed behind them. Something didn't feel right. When I arrived my stomach clutched at the sight off two male wolves taking heavy blows from one another. Everyone circled them cheering them on. I pushed my way into the circle. Both of the men's eyes glowed. This wasn't good...
"Rip his throat out Nile!" A girl shouted out, encouraging their behavior. The man named Nile threw a punch into the other man's stomach making him stumble backwards. Then Nile sank his fangs into the other man, who let out a horrid scream...I had seen enough.
My skin Illuminated as I rushed up to Nile. The man Nile had bitten fell to the ground, a girl screamed out racing toward him with shaking hands. "You monster!" She screamed out to Nile.
Nile flashed a sickening, satisfied smile as blood dripped from his chin. I could tell from the look on his face he liked to fight to prove his dominance. He liked the attention he got from it. Pathetic.
"Your a real ass you know that?" I stated, annoyed that without Bane the males in the pack were starting to get rowdier. Nile smirked at me. "What's the matter cupcake? Can't handle a little fight?"
I narrowed my eyes at him."Don't call me Cupcake."
Nile chuckled. "Look at you! Your nothing but a joke! You may be half wolf now but I don't buy it. You may be the new Luna of our pack but half of us still don't like it. Right?!" He turned to the crowd surrounding him, some of them nodded, others didn't say a word.
This was bond to happen with Bane being down for so long.
"Come on! Where's our Alpha now huh? Curled up in bed like sick pup!" He yelled talking more to the crowd, than me. "If Bane can't lead us then we have to pick someone else who will right?!" The crowd started to agree with Nile.
My blood boiled. "How dare you..." I growled low in my throat. "You pathetic son of a bitch."
Nile's eyes grew wide. "What did you just call me?"
"Pathetic. You wait all this time until Bane is weak, then you want to challenge him? If you had such a problem with him back then, why didn't you just fight him for the position of Alpha when he was still strong enough to pound your ass in huh?!" I couldn't help the hatred that spat out of my voice. It sickened me to think they would turn on Bane so easily, just because he fell ill.
"No...if you want to fight someone else your fighting me."
Nile scoffed. "You? You don't even know how to fight, it would even be a far challenge."
"If you win, I'll let you take Banes Position in the pack."
Nile seemed to sober up on that thought. He smirked. "Alright, but this isn't gonna be a far fight. I'm not afraid to challenge a half wolf." He scoffed again.
I smiled to myself, of course he wasn't afraid of me. I never showed anyone what I could do in a fight. He would regret it soon.
Nile started to circle me. I didn't bother to meet his eyes as he looked me over.
He tried to lung at me, I pressed my hand against his chest and let a full beam of moonlight hit him. It threw him backwards, he skidded against the dirt. He got up slowly, glaring at me. His eyes shifted then he turned into a wolf sprinting towards me. Before I could react someone got in front of me, inches before Nile lunged again and socked him in the head hard. He thudded to the ground not moving.
My eyes widened, when I realized Bane was the one in front of me. My heart fluttered as I touched his back.
"Bane...your okay?" I whispered to him. He slightly looked back at me then smirked.
I took that as a yes, I was so relieved to see him up and out. It surprised me that he had this much power though. He knocked Nile out with one hit.
"Anyone else doubt my position?" He growled deep in his throat. Everyone lowered their head to him.Whenever Bane felt like people where doubting him, he gave off a powerful vibe.
"No? Good, then back the f**k up." Everyone scattered immediately. Bane grabbed Nile by the hair bending his neck back to face him.
"Don't ever insult my position in this pack or insult my mate, your Luna. Got it?" Nile nodded then got up and limped away.
Bane took a big exhale, he started to lean to the side. I quickly got under his arm to help him.
"Bane...you didn't have to do that."
"Yes, I did Lucia. If I don't show them that I'm still strong enough to lead the pack they will take advantage and challenge me for my position." He winced as I helped him walk back up the to our room. I admired his will and determination but he was pushing himself too much.
"Bane, sit please I'll make you some tea." I went to leave him but he grabbed my arm tugging me back.
"No, I need you Lucia." I turned to him, his eyes glowed. My heart ached, ever since Bane healed from his injury he had struggled with connect with his wolf. He tried so hard but every time he tried he seemed to wipe him out. I could feel how bad he wanted me-No needed me.
"Bane..." I said softly as I cupped his face in my hands. "You don't need to feel like you have to keep trying...we will find out what's wrong, we'll fix it."
His brows pulled together. "You can't tell me you don't feel it...Our connection to each other feels like it's fading." His voice ached, it pulled on my heart strings. I knew what he was talking about, I could feel it too. It was like a fire that roared was now a ember barely hanging on.
I swallowed hard. "It's okay Bane, we can fix it whatever this is."
"What if we can't?"
My jaw clenched. Ferrah had explained this to me before, if one mate could not link to their wolf, their bond would feel like it's fading and for some reason it was happening to us, I had to figure out why. Maybe something happened when Gavin stabbed him with the Wolfs-bane...
My wolf was strong, I could feel her kicking, clawing to be with Bane's wolf, just howling for his touch. It was very faint but I could feel him slightly. Bane held my waist. "I want to feel you again." His hands slide down my thighs, then slide under my towel. My body shuddered in response to his touch. I could feel my pulse quicken.
"Let me try, please..." His voice was so hot and heavy with lust, there was no way I could resist him. I wanted it as much as he did, maybe more. He gripped my hips, digging his nails into my hips. I couldn't help but let a soft moan slip from my lips.
I dropped my towel to the floor, Bane lifted me up by my hips to straddle him. I could feel how excited he was by his bulge rubbing against my core. I tangled my hands in his hair as he groan, I moved my hips back and forth loving the feeling of the friction against my core.
Bane let out a growl, then flipped me over on my back as he set himself between my legs. His eyes were still glowing, I could feel his wolf still and it was invigorating. I wanted to tempt him, seduce him into giving it to me...
I felt my eyes glow and Banes body shivered on top of mine as he felt my wolf. He bite his lip as his breath quickened.
He crushed his lips into mine, his tongue playing with mine, teasing me. I pushed my hips against him hoping he would get the hint. He moaned as he slipped off his pants, teasing his throbbing tip against my core. My breath catch in my throat as he entered me, my back ached as he thrust slowly, indulged in the feeling only I could give me.
"God, I missed you so f*****g much..." He groaned as he picked up his pace. My walls started to tighten, I knew I was close and by the way he was thrusting erratically he was too. His eyes still glowed, barely but I could still feel him. I dug my nails into his back as he hit my sweet stop over and over again making my body quiver.
It sent me over the edge, I cried out his name as I tightened around him. He thrust deeper inside me as he reach his peck, he let out a deep growl and bite my neck where he marked me. I whimpered from the sharp pain but It felt so good I didn't stop him.
He licked my wound soothing the pain as it healed. Then kissed my neck until he came to my lips. "Bane, I love you, don't ever think I'd give up on you or think your weak. Your my mate, I have your back like you have mine."
Bane's eyes faded, he smiled pressing his forehead against mine. "I thank the gods your mine Lucia." He said as he kissed my lips softly. I couldn't image life without him and I wasn't going to let this be a weakness for us, because as far as the pack knew Bane was still their Alpha and more than capable to protect them. I just had to find a way to get his strength back because whatever Gavin did was affecting Bane's Wolf now...
