After the lawyer drove Bai Ruyi to the hospital Briar had been brought to, he led the invisible presence to the emergency room, where the young man was still being treated.  Trusting that Bai Ruyi had joined Briar’s side, the lawyer left to see to the hospital paperwork, as well as to inform the police escorts that while he had already informed Briar’s family of what had happened, it was unlikely that any of them would come.
