“My uncle?” Kinsley says when Xavier mentioned Julian Stone.
“Your uncle?” Xavier asks, and she nods.
“At least I think so,” she looks at the ground. “I remember him coming here when I was younger, and he said he was my mom’s brother.”
Xavier ponders for a moment.
“How did he know so quickly?” I butt into the conversation.
“Oh, I had Gus send out an email after I demoted Leighton,” Xavier shrugs. “Julian Stone responded almost immediately.”
Kinsley looks at him with fear.
“I don’t think you have anything to be worried about, Kinsley,” Xavier touches her upper arm. “And besides,” He smirks at me, “Austen here will maim anyone who does,” He slaps my upper arm. “Now, if you’ll excuse me. I must talk to the pack.” He walks onto the stage to the podium.
