12. The Partings

"Thank you, Kirby. Thank you. Thank you so much."
Callie's eyes grew bigger when I put another surprise in her hand. She can't thank me enough. She even shed a tear.
"Oh, that's cute," Lia said, looking at Callie's open palm where I put my gift.
It was a keychain with separate designs of a crescent moon, a star, and a g-cleft, each was golden plated.
"What's the meaning of this? And why are you giving me this? It's so pretty. Is it real gold? It must be so expensive," Callie asked a lot of questions.
Callie's right, the keychain was pricey. I used my savings which I took out from my piggy bank. But instead of answering her, I just smiled. I don't want Lia to know. It's embarrassing, and she will tease me, that's for sure.
