Daisy. The Capo of New Haven Town wants me? Why? What does he want with me? I’ve heard a lot about the Capo to know that no one, not even the strongest man known, would want to contend with him. He's not only scary but also dangerous and ruthless. He would kill anyone before hearing them out, he would burn the world down just because he feels like it. Fear twirled in my stomach and my palm immediately went cold. “I know they asked me to treat you with care but I hate repeating orders twice, darling.” The lady said, I had no idea when she got behind me, her breath on my neck and the words in my ear made me swallow the lump that had already formed at the back of my throat. Taking my hand, she impatiently dragged me to one of the chairs and I sat as my body trembled, I didn’t think anyone would want me talkmore of the Capo of New Haven Town. Of all the girls he could’ve picked, why me? Staring at the mirror in front of me, I swallowed again, my eyes were tired and the tears already welling up in them glistened but I was desperate not to let it fall. He knows the kind of effect he has on people but I still wanted to live and the last thing I wanted was for him to kill me just because I was fidgeting. I’m nothing compared to the kind of ladies I’ve seen him with. In-fact, compared to them I look like an ugly duckling. Maybe the universe just wanted to punish me like my being here wasn’t enough punishment. Like my father on his sick bed wasn’t enough, like life hasn’t kicked my ass multiple times enough, New Haven Capo had to be the one who gets me? Swallowing, tons of unanswered questions ran through my mind, knowing that horrible man, I knew that he was either going to use me for a shady business or maybe something else. He could kill me for being a waste of time. My fingers shook and I couldn’t stop tapping my feet as I waited for him to come and do whatever he wanted with me but until the lady left no one came in the room. It’s been a day since I’ve been locked in here with no food or water, no one bothered coming to check in on me, just faint voices passing across the room. The door finally opened and I opened my eyes to see two hefty men in front of me, they didn’t look friendly at all so I summoned my strength and sat up when the aroma of food hit my nose. Finally! My stomach growled, the worms in it dancing around in happiness as they couldn’t wait to finally eat something since the last time I ate was hours before I got abducted. “Eat!” One of the men said, tossing the tray of food in my direction before cupping my face in his palm, I wanted to spit on his face and ask him to go to hell and never to touch me again but my stomach growled. I couldn’t deny that I was really hungry and not just that, I wanted to live too. If not for me, for my father. “You look frail and Capo hates frail girls, he needs you strong so you have to finish everything on that plate.” He finished before they turned to leave. My father. “Wait!” I called out to them, making them stop in their tracks. The tears finally dropped as I wondered how my father was going to feel, what he was going to do if he learned that his daughter had been kidnapped and sold. He would also blame himself if he found out that I found myself in this situation because I wanted to source for extra income to take care of him. “I’m sorry but please, can I—“ my voice trailed off as I swallowed, drying my tears, I lifted my gaze, “can I speak with my father? One last time? Just to know how he’s doing?” I added. “You see, he’s really sick and he would’ve been expecting me to be home by now so please, just this once and I would never ask for anything else. I’ll do anything you want me to, I’ll be obedient, just please let me speak with my father.” I begged desperately. They looked at each other and bursted out laughing, “you have a lot of nerves making demands.” The other said and my stomach tightened. I just need to speak with my father, I need to know if he’s okay and I need him to know that I’m fine even though I’m not. “Here.” The one who’d given me the tray said before tossing a phone in my direction. Relief washed over me as I called our landline in hopes that he was going to be strong enough to answer the call. “Hello, this is Daisy, how are you doing, dad? I’ll be home soon so you don’t have to worry about me, I just have some business to—“ “Your father has been moved from the house,” a familiar feminine voice said before I could finish talking. I was in such a rush to let my father know that I’m okay that I didn’t realize someone else had picked the call. “He was moved just some hours after you left the house and also, all your debts have been cleared.” She finished and my jaw dropped. Debt has been paid? How is that possible? “O…. Okay…” I managed to say as I moved the phone from my ear and handed it to one of the men. How come our debts have been paid? I know really well that I didn’t have anyone that would willingly pay my debt since it has always been my father and I and he’s so sick that he can barely work. We’re the only family we have in the world since everyone abandoned us a long time ago. Deep in thoughts, I had no idea someone was in the room until I felt his hot breath on my face. The delicious musky smell of his body sent me into a haze and my eyes widened when I saw who was crouching in front of me. Everywhere instantly turned black and white as I moved back in fear but I couldn’t go far. “Hel—“ I didn’t get to finish screaming for help when I felt a cold steel on my neck, my eyes traveled down and I swallowed everything else that was going to come out of my mouth when I saw the gun. Leonardo Roberto Mancini, The capo of New Haven town. His presence was scary and he hadn’t done anything yet. “Now, now, don’t go screaming like you’re about to be killed.” He said, his voice sending hot chills through my veins as I swallowed again, the gun moving from my neck and stopping just on top of my breast. “You’re not so bad,” he went on, “I wonder why no one wants you but then I realize that the world is filled with fools that only have eyes but definitely don't use them to see.” He smirked. “You’d make a good asset and not just for my kitchen but my bed too.” He laughed, the sound of his voice and laughter was like music to my ears. I have never been a fan of Leonardo but I never expected him to have so much s****l aura, I felt hot from inside me and I know that he knows the effect he was having on me despite just basically downgrading me. He leaned into me and my breath caught in my throat as his lips came in contact with my skin, draining me of the last shred of shame and strength I was hanging on to. I’d thought that I was going to be able to resist him but he was simply irresistible, I flinched when his fingers trailed my skin and Leonardo laughed before pulling away from me. “Don’t worry, little gem, we have a lot of time to spend together.” He smiled.
