Not MyFault

Bad news travels fast indeed. By the following day, the entire staff of Juvy Group had heard the news about Reginald. He sent his resignation letter and did not show up at the company, but they knew what had happened. His secretary was nowhere to be found, so there was no need for an explanation. Both of them had been relieved of their duties. Moreover, Scarlet Juvy, who hardly showed up to the company, came to work earlier than everyone else the following day as she came to see to it that Reginald had indeed left and did not take any of her company's properties with him. Phone calls from several places graced Scarlet's phone, including her father's and other business partners that had dealt with the company via Reginald Cray. Scarlet thought that she could easily fit in Reginald's shoes but over the weekend, the amount of calls and paperwork she had to handle had her shaking her head at a point. She had to leave. Someone had to take over the vacancy ASAP. Scarlet had sent word out to the human resource personnel and other worthy portfolios for help until, while she was by herself, she remembered that Reginald had a twin brother who was a carbon copy of him. She greatly believed that he could perform tasks as much as Reginald could in the capacity of CEO, so she reached out to him. Ronnie Cray embraced the idea at once. "I heard you cut off the engagement but I didn't know you sacked my meddling brother as well." Ronnie didn't appear to be upset that his brother had lost such a worthy job. Why would he? They always fought for who the best was among them so if any of them had a downfall it was, for the benefit of the other. "Cut to the chase. His job is up for grabs and I want you to have it." Scarlet was a woman that knew what she wanted. "You are not playing one of your little daddy's girl games, are you?" Ronnie asked. "My company is in desperate need of a CEO, and you care to say I'm joking? You have the same qualifications as Reginald, don't you?" Scarlet asked. "Yes, I do." Ronnie could not believe his ears. "Do you accept to be the CEO then? If you do, I'll have my HR manager reach out to you to start off the enrollment." Scarlet was not wasting anybody's time, including hers. There was a brief silence between them before Ronnie answered slowly, "I accept." Scarlet hung up the phone immediately when she heard his reply. Within the next three hours, the media had carried the news that the Juvy Group had a new CEO, Ronnie Cray. Even Ronnie Cray had not yet received the call from the HR manager as Scarlet said when he saw his photo and name as the new CEO of Juvy Group. Reginald stared at his TV as if he was hearing news of a zombie apocalypse. After he called Scarlet, asking questions that he knew there was no answer to, he proceeded to call his brother, Ronnie. ''I don't have a hand in this. I swear, I was even surprised to hear the news.'' Ronnie washed his hands off of any knowledge of the development before Reginald said anything. ''Oh, you do not have a hand in it but you accepted the offer, right?'' Reginald was panting in fury. ''Who wouldn't? An opportunity to be the CEO of the biggest company in the country? For crying out loud, I will accept it wholeheartedly. You would too if you were in my shoes.'' Ronnie seemed to be enjoying this little victory over his brother. To think that it fell on his lap in the first place was just out of the ordinary. He didn't push for it and it came to him. ''Ronnie, this is not going to end well. It won't end well, and you know it.'' Reginald shut the call down as soon as he said those words. Ronnie could not be bothered by how his brother felt at that time. ''I wasn't the one who asked you to cheat on your fiance, was I? You messed up this time Reggie. Deal with it and try not to come to me while dealing with your issues.'' Reginal sent that text message to his brother and put away his phone. ''Heck, I have better things to get involved in. I am the damn CEO of Juvy Group.'' Ronnie said to himself with pride as he stuck his phone into the breast pocket of his suit. Reginald and Ronnie Cray were billionaire sons who could not just live responsible lives and always fought each other. Their father, Mr. Vincent Cray had a large estate that needed supervision since he was getting old, but he could not trust any of his sons to take up the responsibility. If not, he would be sure to lose a lot. Mr. Crya had a franchise of companies and others that he looked forward to handing over to his sons but they had not proved themselves worthy of such positions. To think that they were intelligent boys was what upset Vincent Cray the most. But they were spoilt brats. ''I warned you but you wouldn't listen. Now, look at what our sons have turned into. They forever depend on us for everything and cannot take on any responsibility.'' Mr. Vincent Cray scolded his wife several times anytime the topic came on. ''I didn't raise them alone, Vince. You are their father, you raised them too. If I failed, you failed too. Don't blame me.'' Mrs. Cray would reply angrily while she whirled away time knitting sweaters for her little store that she loved to run by herself even though she had everything in the world that she could ask for, including an abundance of cash. Reginald and Ronnie Cray were struggling to prove to their father that each of them was responsible for taking care of the family's wealth, and so far, Reginald was in the front line as the CEO of Juvy group, until his sudden decline had Ronnie taking his place.
