Chapter Five

Finn I was running late to a meeting with Dylan and Jordan about the opening of the camp next week and of course, I promised them I would bring the pastries. Well, let’s be honest, they conned me into it like they always do, those jackasses. Dylan should be doing it, he’s always the first one up so he could get them nice and fresh on his way in, but nope, he had to play the dad card and say he was too tired. He’s lucky he’s one of my best friends. Or maybe the fact that he’s married to my twin, but either way, he’s a jackass. I grew up with him and we all just hung out and well, boom, best friends. Not like we had much of a choice considering my sister has been in love with him for as long as we can remember and well, they’re married now with the two most adorable twins, Eliana and Trey who are just over a year and a half but he likes using the twins as an excuse to get out of crap, such as this. Jordan on the other hand, I get why he didn’t. He’s walking around like a damn zombie. His fiancé/wife, Summer, had their beautiful little girl two months ago so he is suffering from the lack of sleep, something I hope to never experience in my entire life. I say wife/fiancé because they eloped and now, they are getting remarried because my twin is too butthurt she wasn’t at their original wedding. But anyways, no babies for me thank you. On top of that, the wedding planning with all the crazy nuts in our family is zapping the energy out of him. Okay, so Ray has been zapping the energy out of them all, especially with adding in the new chick and her kids. Stupid decision really. They don’t even know her that well. Dylan’s parents and mine are best friends. Their story is something else and it’s crazy full of drama. My aunt Hannah and uncle Austin were dating and broke up because Austin’s ‘dad’ is a dickface and well, she basically vanished off the face of the earth with the help of my mom. She didn’t know she was pregnant and five years later boom! Dylan popped into Austin’s world. My dad and uncle came to Texas to acquire a business called Offbeat Inc and that’s where they both were working and the reunion was crazy from what I heard. On top of that, finding out that my dad had a twin brother, my uncle Tristian and how they almost died or some bullshit like that. Who knows what the real story is anyways it seems to change consistently. I blame their old age. Dylan: hungryyyyyyyy Me: You should have got them yourself. Suck it up. I’ll be there as soon as I can. I lived right around the corner from the café where I got the pastries and about four blocks from work, so I walk as much as possible. Today was going to be a busy day. We had meetings upon meetings to schedule interviews because it seems like I can’t keep people to help out. Dylan: HUNGRY Me: MY SISTER SHOULD HAVE FED YOU Dylan: Don’t worry, she did *wink* Best. Breakfast. Ever. Me: Gross dude. That’s my sister. Be there in ten. I was already annoyed and I just wanted to go home and sleep all weekend. I haven’t been sleeping because Archer, Dylan’s brother, has been staying in my spare because his ex-girlfriend, Jo, is staying at Dylan’s. I just don’t understand why they can’t just stay at their own houses! They are consistently fighting and even though it sucks that they broke up, I can not wait for them to go to college and leave. I mean, I’ll miss them both but damn, I’m over the drama. What’s crazy is they won’t tell us the real reason why they broke up. All we get is the whole ‘it’s none of your business’ and they storm away after the whole college excuse, but we all know it’s something more. It sucks, they seemed so good together. As I was making my way to work, my phone just would stop going off. Notifications for meeting after meeting, messages from everyone and their damn mother. Dad: Don’t forget, you have to make sure everything is set for the opening of camp coming up. Sara will go over some things with what she has done. Head to the stadium and make sure everything is physically good to go. Me: I know dad. I got it. He’s micromanaging this and it’s pissing me off. It was my idea. I wanted to give back because we have more than enough. Dylan’s dad, my dad and uncle grew up in very well off homes, and well, they are billionaire’s but they don’t flaunt it. They hold numerous events for fundraising to help out different charities and double the donations and now with this, we can give back more. But he thinks he’s in charge because his last name is on the building. Well, guess again pops, it’s my last name too and my venture so ha! Tristian: We need to hire three more assistants to help out, preferably ones that can help in the office and at the stadium. Make it happen. Me: You all know I’m not the only that works there, right? Tristian: Yet you’re the youngest. Me: You’re a d**k. Tristian: So I’ve been told. Why do you think I’m single? Me: Are you ever going to tell us what happened between the two of you? Tristian: When the time is right. Hurry and get your ass to work. Tristian and Riley, his now ex-wife, broke up some time ago. No one really knows what happened, not even Eli and Austin. He’s kept it hush all this time but he seems to be taking it well for all we know. I turned the corner after receiving another message from Dylan saying he was hungry and one from Jordan saying bring coffee. I’m not their assistant so what the hell guys! As I kept my head down, answering message after message and not paying attention to where I was going, I ran into someone and the sudden collision made me snap my head up to see papers flying everywhere. I dropped the pastries and went down my knees to help her pick her stuff up. She was mumbling and grumbling about ‘how could this happen to her’ when my fingers grazed hers while I was helping her gather her things and when I saw her ocean eyes where I swear, I could see dolphins swim and leap, it was like a mac truck came full force into my life and smacked me right in the chest. Is this how Dylan and Jordan felt when they saw Ray and Summer? Because damn, this girl is everything my fantasies can muster. My mouth got dry to the point where I almost couldn’t speak. For the first time in my life, I felt my chest tighten and I just wanted to say something, anything, but here I am, looking like an i***t. She stood up and shoved the papers in her bag but stumbled a bit, so I caught her. Touching her felt like a dream. It was like instant sparks, a tingling sensation throughout my body but she broke the connection by stepping out from my grasp, but I forced the words out, “Hey, you okay?” I asked her as she stepped away from me to put distance between us and I wanted nothing more to bring her in my arms and hold her. What the hell is happening to me? I have never wanted to do this to anyone I just met, but her…fuck…I just felt like I needed her. I needed her in my life…and in my bed because f**k, it’s been a while. She stood there a moment, just looking at me, stunned. She’s probably thinking I’m some sort of a werido. I mean, I am, its common knowledge but she doesn’t need to know that. Not like she ever would. “You should be more careful and shouldn’t be touching people you don’t know. Now, if you excuse me, I’m already late to work.” She snapped at me and I saw her beautiful blue eyes turn a bit darker, telling me she was annoyed but damn, my c**k decided he wanted to come out and play at the sight of this. I took a couple of deep breathes, trying to calm my blood flow and the next thing I knew she was stomping away. I watched her turn the corner, looking at her clothes, she was dressed in a waitress’s uniform that look extremely familiar but I couldn’t put my finger where I saw it before. I start to walk behind her because I had this overwhelming feeling to make sure she was okay. Something was telling me she wasn’t. Why am I feeling like this? I want to make her pain go away. My phone went off, breaking me out of the trance seeing a message from Dylan. Dylan: FOOD! Btw, the meeting starts in ten so get your ass here now. I’m missing quality time with your sister. Me: TMFI Dude Dylan: Oh, you’ll understand when you find a guy for yourself. Me: Dude, I’m straight. Dylan: How the hell are we supposed to know? You never bring a girl around and when Ava tried to set you up with Sawyer, you told her over your dead body. Me: One word. D-R-A-M-A. I don’t want it anymore in my life. Between the four of you, I’ve had enough. Dylan: Meeting, now. Rolling my eyes, I bent down and picked up the box of pastries I dropped and notice it dropped on top of a piece of paper that was neatly folded right down the middle. I was a bit confused, but then remembering the beauty that was in front of me. This must be hers. I turned around and ran around the corner, not sure what I was expecting because I know she was long gone at this point, but I was hopeful. That hopefulness soon turned into disappointment. Shrugging my shoulders to myself, I made my way to work and unfolded the paper. I was surprised to see that it was an application to the sports camp, but everything was smudged so I couldn’t make out most of what was on the paper. Just my freaken luck. If it wasn’t smudged, I could have found out who the star of tonight’s fantasy will be. Feeling a bit defeated, I made my way to work and headed to the conference room where Dylan and Jordan were sleeping with their heads on the table. As soon as I walked into the room, I dropped the pastries and slammed the door shut, making them both jump up. “I DIDN’T DO IT!” Dylan yelled. “THE TRIANGLE DOESN’T FIT THE CIRCLE.” Jordan screamed. I looked at him with a confused face. What the f**k was he talking about? They both had drool stains on the side of their mouths and their hair looked like a warzone and don’t get me started on their clothes. “Sorry, we’re working on shapes…” Okay, so they looked good. Whatever. “You two are ridiculous. How could you have possible fell asleep in less than fifteen minutes? I was on my way to give you demanding divas the food you’ve been begging for.” “I wasn’t begging for food, I needed coffee damnit.” “Dude, we’ve been waiting for like forty-five. Where the hell were ooooh, danishes.” Dylan smiled, open the box with excitement just to see his face fall. “Why are they all destroyed? What did you do? Step on them!” I looked down at the box and just groaned, but the remembered the beauty that was in front of me and a soft smile crept on my face. I wanted to run my fingers through her dark brown chocolate hair and get lost in her amazing blue eyes but the glare and sneer on her face just made her more intriguing. I needed to know who the f**k she was. Someone cleared their throats and all our heads snapped to the entrance where we saw Eli, Austin, Tristian and Sara coming into the room and I heard Dylan squeal with excitement seeing that Sara came in carrying muffins. “Did I ever tell you I love you? Like, so much so I will divorce my wife and marry you if you could make me these muffins every day.” He spoke while he grabbed a blueberry muffin off her tray. “I will seriously kick your ass again.” Eli glared. “I’m joking. My breakfast at home is pretty damn amazing.” He winked and I just wanted to groan. “We don’t need to hear about that s**t, besides that’s my sister you’re talking about.” “What’s got your panties in a twist? And what the hell happened to the pastries?” Austin joked while looking in the box and then his face turned stern, “Aw…the bear claw is crumbled.” “I dropped them.” I shrugged, trying not make a big deal of it. “You dropped them? You have the steadiest hands out of all of us.” Dylan sounded surprised. I mean, he’s not right. I do have some of the steadiest and quickest hands between the three of us, but I don’t have the speed they have. Growing up, Jordan and Dylan were into football while Dylan’s brother plays baseball like our dads, but I on the other hand, was more drawn towards hockey, goalie to be exact. I didn’t pursue anything with it. It was never my dream to go pro nor did I have the talent, but I was pretty good when I played. I missed it at times, I’m not going to lie. But besides hockey, I did dabble in other sports as well, so I know how to play a bit of everything. Which is why when I decided to open this camp, sports was the first thing that came to my mind. I remembered growing up being so indecisive with what I wanted to do, I was fortunate to have a dad that was very well off to be able to go back and forth before I picked something. But in the end, my goal was to work with my family no matter what and to help other families as well because let’s face it, sports are not cheap. “Yeah, let’s not talk about my morning.” And in that instant my d**k wanted to say hello at the thought of her. Damn, I wish I got her name. Much to my dismay, I had to push thoughts of her to the back of my mind and concentrate on what’s in front of me. Besides, what are the chances I would ever see her again anyway? “Let’s get this started…” “I think that about covers everything. We should head to the stadium to check everything out.” Sara finished off the meeting. Three hours. Three freaken hours of us trying to prepare for this and it was about to happen. Everything was set. We had coaches volunteering with athletes dropping in from time to time to help the children. We set up a scholarship fund for those that want to pursue a future in sports or anything really and that will be determined by the coaches themselves and be handed to a qualifying high school student. We have the equipment and bags ready for the children. We needed to hire some more assistants like Tristian messaged me about, so they were hounding my ass about that and now, the next step is to pick who was going to be part of the first ever Sander’s Sports Camp. There was a knock on the door and Sara got up to open it and crouched down, talking to someone. But not just someone, a younger someone. I walked over to the door and saw a young boy and a little girl, standing there holding hands. “Everything okay loves?” she asked them as the little girl was sniffling and wiping tears from her eyes, “Ivy, what’s wrong?” She pulled her in and hugged her. “I miss mommy.” She cried out. “Aw, sweetie, I know. But mommy will be home later tonight.” “I also miss Uncle. He throws me in the air and tickles me and makes me pancakes with smiling chocolate chips.” “Aw, baby, he misses you too.” “He will be home soon.” The little boy said, rubbing her back. She nodded up at him. “She just wanted to say hi and well, I’m bored.” “Who do we have here?” I walked over and bent down on my knees, looking at the little girl. She hid her face away in Sara’s neck, being all shy and whatnot. The little boy, I don’t know, maybe looking like he was eight, nine, ten, whatever that age is looked annoyed and bored out of his damn mind. To be honest, if I were here at his age, I would be too. My eyes shifted back and forth between them. They look so damn familiar like I’ve seen them before but I couldn’t put my finger on where I’ve seen the,. “Sorry Finn. This is Ivy and that is Miles. I brought them here since well, it was either that or try to find a sitter last minute.” “Oh, it’s fine. You know they can come here any time.” I smiled. “How do you know them?” “I help watch them time to time for a friend of mine.” She smiled at me. Thinking about it, they did sound familiar. “I brought them once or twice to a couple of barbeques I went to when their mother was working.” “Oh, so I probably seen them at one.” She smiled and nodded her head but didn’t go into much detail than that. I shrugged, not thinking anything of it. “This place sucks.” Miles pouted while crossing his arms, “All the kids here are little. There’s no one my age and nothing to do.” “You know, you are so right.” I smiled, “We were about to head down to the stadium to check it out. If it’s okay with Sara, you both can come with us.” Their faces lit up as the started to quickly ask if they can go, throwing out pleases and begging with huge eyes. I threw my head back and laughed, watching them. “I’m sure Sara is more than okay with it, aren’t you Sara?” Dylan walked over and smiled at the kids. “This is Finn. He helps run this place.” He smiled at them like he knew them. How did he know little humans and I not know them? I mean, I know they’ve been to a couple of get togethers but how many for them to be so comfortable around one another. Or maybe he was just being nice. “What do you guys do?” he tilted his head as he looked up at us, “You never really told us. It looks like you guys work out a lot. Do you play sports?” “We work out all the time. We had to if we want to get in shape to run the summer camp.” Jordan chuckled. “You remember us talking about the camp, right? Hockey?” Wait…Jordan knew them too? I mean, it’s totally okay that we all don’t know the same people and maybe they knew them because the kids all hung out but still…it was weird. I shook it off. “Oh! That’s right! My aunt is bringing the application today! Is that where we’re going? Can I check it out and check out the ice rink?” “I take it you like hockey?” I smiled. “I like all sports, but I love hockey.” “Then, what are we waiting for, let’s go!” His eyes went huge when we walked up to the stadium and I felt a sense of pride. My hands were in my pockets as Miles walked next to me with Dylan on the other side. Sara was holding Ivy in her arms and she talked about how she wants to make cookies and get ice cream and go swimming. Her energy is contagious and I wish I had just a little bit of what she had. I looked over at her and she looked so familiar. Her hair was dark brown and wavy and she had the brightest blue eyes I ever seen. She looked over at me and smiled. “Can you carry me?” she asked and I was stunned for her to come right out and ask that, of a stranger no less. I mean, I’m not a stranger, but still. “Are you sure?” I asked and she nodded. “Ivy, how about I carry you and we can play airplane?” Jordan tried to interject but she just shook her head no. “You’re nice. I like you. You’re taking us here to play.” She leaned from Sara’s arms into mine. “Are you sure Finn? I don’t mind carrying her.” “It’s all good. At least she has a good taste in character.” “Says you.” Jordan laughed. We walked through the door and the air conditioning hit us right in the face as we let out a sigh. The heat was getting worse so it was beyond refreshing. “Over there are the locker rooms. There are some skates. Let’s check out the rink first.” Miles ran to the locker room as fast as he could and we all just laughed. “Hey princess, do you know how to skate?” she nodded her head yes, “Want to skate with us for a bit?” “Finn, we have some work to do.” Sara says, “I can take them back.” “It’s fine. We are here to check everything out and make sure it’s ready for next week and that’s what we’re going to do. We need to make sure the ice rink is good, then we will check everything out.” “I’ll check out the outdoor fields if Jordan wants to check the gym and pool. Our dads can go to the office and go through the applications when Sadie brings them up.” Dylan was looking at me all weird and it was creeping me out as his eyes shifted between me and Ivy. “What are you looking at?” “You with this kid. It’s cute and funny.” “What are you talking about?” “Nothing. Nothing at all.” He chuckled and walked away. I think the lack of sleep is getting to him. I shook my head and carried Ivy with me to the locker room where I got her a pair of skates so we can head to the ice and boy could she talk. “My mommy works a lot. She has two jobs. One during the day and one at night sometimes.” She said softly, “I miss her a lot. I wish she didn’t have to work so much.” “I’m sure she works a lot to make sure you get everything you want.” “Mhm. Also for Miles.” “What about your and Mile’s dad?” I suddenly had this hard, compressing pain in my chest as I asked that question, it almost felt like something was standing on my chest. It was strange…all these strange things are happening to me. “My daddy…he’s mean so he isn’t here. He hurt mommy a lot so we moved.” My face fell as my heart broke for them, “Mommy said that we are safe here. But Mile’s daddy is my uncle Aiden. He’s in the desert. He calls all the time to make sure we are okay and when he comes home, he takes us for ice cream all the time!” “Well, I can promise you this princess, as long as you’re here with me, I’ll make sure you’re safe.” I smiled at her. Her eyes went big as she smiled and she hugged me. “Thank you. I like you. You’re nice.” “I like you too. Now, lets get on the ice before your brother thinks we ran away.” “Brother?” “Miles.” “He’s my cousin, silly.” “you are so right, how silly of me. Now, show me what you’re made of.” I winked and we headed onto the ice. "Do you think we can see you every day we're here?" She asked as we headed into the rink. This made Miles pause and come up to me as well. "Yeah...can we?" "I don't see why not." I shrugged and who would have thought they would actually want to see me again. I guess I am pretty awesome. It was a long day. A long, exhausting day and I just wanted to lay in bed and pass the f**k out. A few month ago, I moved out of the penthouse I bought and rented it out and moved into a house on the other side of town. I wanted something more permanent, something more me and when I found this house, I knew it was perfect. Going to the fridge, I grabbed a bottle of beer, thinking back to everything that happened today and my mind instantly went to the beautiful woman I saw and my d**k instantly went hard. I needed to shake this off. I haven’t been on a date in god knows how long, not since the last one I went on decided it was a good idea to bring me home and I walked into a house full of whips and chains. I hightailed it out of there as fast as speedy Gonzales. Her lips, though, those beautiful plump lips I wanted to kiss and nibble made my pants even tighter, imagining what it would feel like to feel her lips around me. I unbuttoned them to give some relief to my straining c**k and laid my head back on the couch. But those legs, they went on for days and looked so smooth and tan. My hand rubbed my d**k, making me moan. Those eyes, I could swim in them. I wanted to grab her hair and kiss the ever loving f**k out of her. My hand moved faster and tighter. Her body, my god. Even though her uniform wasn’t tight, you can tell she was perfect. I wanted to kiss and nibble every part of her body. Memorize every dip and every curve. Feel the tightness of her glorious p***y around my c**k as I give her everything I am, hearing her scream my name as she spills all over me. My panting grew faster and louder and I imagined what it would feel like to feel her around me, until I moaned out, spewing all over my hands and shirt. I guess it’s the memory I will have for now. I shook my head and cleaned myself up as I finished my beer. But something else was bothering me, thinking about it more. What did Ivy mean when she said her mom told her they are safe here? What happened and why did I say I would keep her safe…
