Cassandra. The tension was so thick one could slice through it like a slab of steak. Even the steak on my dinner plate wasn't as thick as the tension hanging over the dinner table. It was death silent, as this was the very first dinner we were all having together. By all, I meant Lori, Axel, me… along with Zane and Felicity. Zane had never once returned to the house early enough for dinner, but with Felicity living here now, he seemed to be on his best behavior. Axel was too busy gorging on the delicious food, that I had to occasionally tell him to slow down and drink some water. Lori was more of a slow-eater, but half of her attention was on the desserts at the middle of the dinner table. Obviously they were too little to actually use the dinner table, so they had their own special c
