Ready or not....here we come!  Alexis When we arrived to Taco Bell many people looked at us like we were freaks, which we probably are. All my company and I as well was dressed in beautiful dresses and we still had our graduation gowns on us. After we made our order and sat down in a box waiting for our order to be prepared Martin turned to me. - Dear what are your plans? - I almost chocked on my drink. - Papi! Don't out pressure on her! We just finished University I mean literally just a few hours ago... Now its time to fall in love many times and make as many mistakes as we can. So when we will be old and wrinkled we will have storied to tell! - Camila rolled her eyes at her daughter which caused me to laugh and cough even more. Sara pat my back and I showed and Ok sign to her. - Accept my apologies in my father's name that he for almost ended your life before it even began. - I chuckled again. - How dramatic please! - I said and Sara shot a look at her mother with a puckish smile. - I inherited from someone. - Camila got her daughter's look and she started to scold her in Spanish. I adored how she could say so many words in such a short amount of time and with a single breathe. When she finished Sara pulled her tongue and I looked at her in confusion. - What did she just say? - I asked and Martin laughed. - I didn't understand the whole sentence but I got the "beat","you","slipper" and "home" words.- we laughed with Martin while Sara and Camila went to pick our orders. When our Latinas came back we started to eat and a little later Martin asked again. -Seriously, Alexis what do you want to do now? - I shrugged and sighed. - I'll call my parents and if they pick up the phone, and if they want to see me I'll visit them. After that I don't really know. But I can't stay in that house for long...- I said and silence fall to our table. I still had nightmares sometimes when I remembered about the innocent animals I killed. I was forced to do it. MY parents sometimes didn't let me have a dinner if I wasn't able to hunt it down. I started to learn about the different berries , roots ,mushrooms and cortexes to see what I could eat. In a young age I already could make a difference between poisonous and  non poisonous mushrooms and plants. Also I learned which herbs to use in different situations. That was the moment when I realized what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I wanted to heal and cure. Somehow I felt like my duty to balance the unnecessary murders my family did. They were professional hunters but they didn't respect the beauty in their profession. They also hunted for fun. For the first time my father took me to hunt I was only ten years old. He shot a fox and while we walked to its corpse he said. - You know Alex, I enjoy the pain in their eyes. There is no better feeling in the world then look into their eyes before they exhale their last breath. - I looked at my father with disgust. I can clearly remember that day because when he moved the fox he found its litter. There were four fox pups crying for their mother. A tear run down on my cheek and my father gave me a slap. -  These are animals. They don't feel. Stop feeling pity for them! - I touched my face where he hit me and my skin burnt under my palm. I got the glance of one of the pups and mouthed "I'm sorry" before my father broke its neck with a single snap.  - Lexi! Earth to LEXI! - from my memories Sara's voice brought me back. - Oh... Sorry I out zoned. What did you asked? - I turned to Martin and Camila took the word instead of him. - It doesn't matter. Listen carino. -Camila took my hand in hers and looked deeply in my eyes.  - You will always have a family and a home at our house. Let us to be your shelter and let us to help you. - I smiled gratefully and Martin nodded to his wife's words. Sara squeaked next to me. - You are already a sister to me, since the first day you popped your reddish head to our dorm! - I giggled and found myself in a hug. - Thank you all. This means a lot.  - Okay now that the sentimental minutes are officially over, let's finish our meal before it gets cold! -Sara said and we finished our festive feast. After our fabulous meal at Taco Bell  we headed to our dorms where Sara and I had our suitcases already packed together. I took a deep breathe looking one last time around our room. From September it will be two other girls living here and I hoped the best for them. Sara grabbed my hand and pulled me from the door. I stopped for a second and she looked at me curiously.  - Why are you standing here? Is there anything interesting at the ceiling? - she asked and stood next to me observing the ceiling. I giggled. - No silly! I just thought about to give a call to my parents before we leave. I don't want to start my new life with something bitter. We have a wonderful day, a phone call can't ruin it. - Sara smiled and said. - Who knows? Maybe you will be positively disappointed. - Exactly. - Sara smiled again and grabbed her large suitcases. - I'll give you some privacy. We will be waiting at the car. Scream if you need help. - I punched her gently by her shoulder. - Since when you know what privacy means? - Sara pinched my nose and said. - Since you moved in. Call your ancestors!- I pulled my tongue and dialed my mother's number. I sat down on my bed and waited counting the rings out loud.  - One...two...three...four...five...six...- A mechanical voice grabbed the phone and said. - "The called number cannot be switched. Please repeat your call later or leave a message after the beep.- I sighed and ended the call. I tried to dial my father, same happened. My last hope was my older brother Will. I tried with his phone as well and I decided if he won't pick up either I've finished opening doors for them to enter to my life. The phone rang. - One...two...three...- I counted and a little harsh voice spoke. - Hello? - my heart skipped a beat. He didn't realize I called. Probably he was still asleep and I woke him up. - Hi Will! It's me, Alexis...- I've waited for the phone to hang up but it didn't. Instead he asked. - Alex? Why did you call? - I sighed. - I just wanted to ask who are things going. - Alex cut the crap. What do you want? - I felt how my heart sank in deep sadness. I took a deep breathe and get my s**t together. I was an adult. A doctor and I shouldn't be afraid of my family like this. - I just got my diploma today. I'm Dr. Alexis Hunter form today.- silence waited for me on the other side. - Will are you still there? - I asked and waited. - Yes. Just I don't know how you have the guts to call yourself a Hunter. - here we go again. I got pissed. Some kind of strange bravery ran through my body and I felt more self-conscious then ever. - Well at least someone will bring fix the damage all of you caused to this name! - Will laughed at the other side of the phone.  - I see you grow up. Listen Alex, I won't say I'm proud and actually I'm disappointed, but you worked your ass off for this so I'll give you a graduation gift in the name of your family. - I held my breathe while he said. - Congrats sister. I hope it worth it. - I felt tears running down on my cheek and I whispered. - Thank you Will. It really means a lot even if you don't mean it. - he laughed. - I meant it. But I only congratulated the effort you put in your dream and the strength  you had to do it alone. You are disgrace but a fighter and s**t, my sister as well. - I laughed a little but it sounded bittersweet. - Do you think its a good idea to go home? You know to visit you and our parents.- I hoped Will will say something encouraging.  - No. Honestly they don't consider you part of this family.  - Thank you for being honest. Can I call sometime? - Will sighed and said. - Fine. I don't want you to be completely alone.  - Thanks I love you. - Yeah whatever. Bye!  - Bye... - I said to the phone which was already hung up. I picked my suitcases and walked out of the dorm. I walked to the elevator and called the number 0. While I was waiting to arrive to the ground floor I decided in my mind and said it out loud. - I'm Doctor Alexis Hunter. A f*****g fighter a doctor and I solemnly swear to fix damage my family caused. - the door opened and Martin waited there for me. He helped to take my suitcases tot heir car. We waved goodbye for the last time with Sara to the building and headed to their house, my new home.
