Chapter Seven:There stood the door. The door’s position as senseless as the first time she laid eyes on it. Clearly constructed of costly materials with keen craftsmanship, it was absurd to leave it here. Morgan didn’t understand how, at one time, this inanimate object filled her with such terror. Now it all seemed irrational. From what she understood as a none-mage, magic worked best when it had emotional targets to deal with. Those without understanding became the most susceptible to the various japes, wards, and conjurings a caster might weave. In a way, it made sense. A simple mind was easy to sway an emotional being simpler to control. Without fear, the three walked straight up to the barrier with a disregard for danger. It was, after all, a door—how dangerous might it possibly be
