Once more surrounded by gray, she woke on the open road, her body transported from the summoning room filled with dead to a deserted section. Well maintained stones made up the road under her feet. She assumed she landed somewhere between Haven and Ra on the royal road connecting the two cities. Maa was forced to guess because she’d hadn’t stepped a foot outside the palace since her father carried her to Haven.
