Chapter Eleven:As Maa expected, the doors of the summoning room remained open. The dead lay where they fell, motionless. None jumped up to greet the small group as Maa led them through the blood-splattered mage building. Rather than burst into the deadly room, Maa paused at the doors, taking a moment to assess the situation. She might not fear death, but she wasn’t overeager to visit that new realm. That adventure can wait for a long time. She expected Zoe’s quick retort that never came. The room seemed as she left it last. The dead female lay where Maa killed her.
