Onward or Backward
Kyoshi didn’t answer her, just pushed her out to arm’s length to look her over. He noticed the hole in the knee of her suit right away and his eyes grew even graver.
“Get in the rover,” he said over the radio. “I have to fill the air tanks but that will just take a minute. Once I’m inside I can run life support and we can get out of our suits.”
“Kiyoshi, I’m not going back,” Valentina said.
“I know.”
“And the next two stations are down. I’ve been stuck here.”
“The rover can make it,” he said, then walked away. Since everything she owned was already in the pockets of her suit, Valentina climbed inside the rover and pulled the door closed behind her. She was standing in a space behind the two seats that was only as wide as the door she had just shut. The
