Late Tuesday morning, Dante and Kade paid a visit to their bank to rent a safety deposit box. After filling out the requisite paperwork, signing it, and paying for six months’ rental, they were escorted into the vault. The bank employee used his key, and they used theirs, to remove the box. When the teller left, Kade took a wrapped package from his messenger bag. “Here’s to our future.” He grinned widely as he put it into the box. “When we’re old, gray, and retired.” “Let’s hope it’s long before then.” Kade closed the cover and returned the box to its slot.
