THIRD PERSON'S POV:-
Thick dark red clouds covered the night sky. Not even the light of the moon could touch the ground. The sky was crying at the funeral of the late king Adam of the Scarlet kingdom. The Lucanthus family was standing upfront, saying their goodbyes to their beloved king. The kingdom was in shock and they were sad. Prince Isaac, Prince David and a few other trusted people of the kingdom's council were placing the coffin of the king on the ground.
All the lycans turned their heads towards the sky and cried for their king. Howling at the Moon Goddess, begging her to take care of their beloved king. Prince David jumped into the grave. Hugging the coffin, he began crying out loud.
"Father! My beloved father, My kind-hearted king, why did you have to leave us like this? Why did you have to die like this? How are we going to survive without you, my king?" Prince David was crying. While Prince Isaac was standing bravely at the side of the grave. He had tears in his eyes. He was sad because he never got to spend time with his father.
Still, he stood on his feet, fighting the tears. He couldn't let anyone see that he was weak from inside. However, no one was around to judge him in any way. But he couldn't just whine like a child. He was no longer a child. He had all grown up, and he couldn't cry in front of everyone like he used to.
His father hated it whenever he cried. He could only remember his father saying one thing to him. That he was not a girl. He was not supposed to cry like one. That's all he remembered about his father. He was hardly praised by his father. He lived all his life under the shadow of his older brother. All eyes were on both of the princes.
Mr Robinson laid down on the ground and held his hand for Prince David. "Please, my prince. You have to get out of the grave. It's time to say goodbye to your father. We need to do it before the moon starts to go down. Or your father would never be at peace." Mr Robinson spoke in a low tone, trying to get Prince David out of the grave.
Some of the guards grabbed Prince David's hands and pulled him out of the grave. Prince David fell on the ground and kept on crying. "I can't do this. I can't bury him in the ground. I will not do it to my father." Prince David yelled at everyone who had been waiting for him to cover the grave with the soil. Shaking his head, Prince Isaac stepped forward and began covering the grave with the wet soil.
Prince David stood up and punched Prince Isaac in his face. "How cruel are you really? You didn't even wait a second and covered him with dust." Prince David yelled at his younger brother, accusing him of being cruel.
Prince Isaac didn't pay attention to the hurtful words his brother was throwing at him. He decided to focus on what was important. He covered the grave with soil. Then he crouched down on the ground and pulled a packet out of his pocket. It was the seeds of a cherry blossom. He spread the seeds all over the grave then covered it up with more soil.
King Adam had this connection with the cherry blossom trees. And he loved the way the cherry blossom petals on the ground in the season of spring. It was random, but Prince Isaac wanted to grow a cherry blossom tree on top of his father's grave. A gesture from his side so his father would never be alone.
---------------
The very next day, the royal family was called in front of the royal council to announce the name of the next king according to the will King Adam left in the hands of the council. While the whole family was in the hall of throne, Prince Isaac decided to go to the hospital to visit his savior first. He entered the hospital and went straight towards the ICU where the blonde woman was admitted.
He opened the door and entered the ICU. Misty was standing in front of the monitors, reading her vitals. "How is she doing? Will she survive?" Asked the Prince in a concerned tone as he looked at the woman. He just couldn't imagine the pain she went through.
Misty turned around and smiled widely. "I can't say anything right now. All her organs were ripped out of her body and left out. Some people hated her so much. They wanted her to have the slowest and most painful death." Misty replied to Prince Isaac in a low tone.
"How long do you think she has been like this?" Prince Isaac asked Misty.
"If you ask me, these wounds are about two weeks old. Something just kept her alive. I can't say what it was." Misty replied in a low tone. Prince Isaac frowned in confusion, as whatever Misty just told him, didn't feel real at all. Even creatures have limits. And the woman didn't look celestial at all.
"It's a miracle she lived through everything she has been through. Maybe the Moon Goddess has some plans for her. But right now, I can't tell if she will ever wake up." Misty added in a low tone. She didn't want Prince Isaac to have any kind of false hopes. The truth was brutal, but false hope was more likely to be the twin blade. It cuts deep.
Prince Isaac stepped closer to the bed and brushed his knuckles on her cheek. "I want you to do whatever you can to save her. I want her to live." Prince Isaac said firmly, almost ordering his best friend to save the life of the woman who had unknowingly saved his life. Misty felt her heart burning as she heard Prince Isaac.
"Why is she so important to you? You never once asked me how I am doing. You didn't even say hi." Misty asked Prince Isaac angrily as she felt jealousy rising within her chest. Prince Isaac raised one of his brows as he turned his head towards Misty.
"Hi, Misty! How are you? Happy now? Now save her life. Do whatever you have to do." Prince Isaac spoke in an annoyed tone. Then he repeated himself.
Without waiting for his response, Prince Isaac stepped out of the ICU. Misty was left behind, glaring at the poor woman as if she was about to kill her while she was stuck in a coma. Stomping her foot in anger, Misty stepped out of the ICU.
--------------
Prince Isaac made his way towards the hall of throne as he knew it would be time for them to announce the next king. He wanted to be there to support his older brother. Prince Isaac was well aware that his older brother was shaped up by their father just to take over the throne after King Adam. He was happy for his father. But the circumstances were just squeezing his heart.
He never thought that his brother would have the throne after their father's death. It was supposed to be the other way around. Just like king Adam used to talk about.
Prince Isaac stepped into the hall of throne and all the gazes turned towards him. Mr Robinson stood up and ran towards the younger prince.
"My prince! Where have you been? The council has been waiting for your presence." Mr Robinson asked Prince Isaac as he led the young prince towards his chair. Mr Robinson's words made Prince Isaac frown in confusion. He was definitely not expecting anyone to wait for him. Since he was just a prince.
Prince Isaac sat down in his chair that was wet beside his brother's. "As everyone has finally arrived, it is time for me, Draco Julian, the head of the Lycan king's council, and the Alpha of the kingdom, to announce the name of the next King of the scarlet kingdom." The Alpha member of council announced to the crowd that had been waiting for the announcement impatiently.
Prince Isaac felt his brother suddenly getting excited. A small smile appeared on his face as he knew his brother was about to follow their father's footsteps. He envied his older brother's fate. Prince Isaac wanted to be praised by his father the way King Adam used to praise Prince David. But everything that did, was just not enough for King Adam to praise his younger son.
Prince Isaac was a soft-hearted man with kindness filled in his heart for everyone. He would cry even if he saw some animal in pain. "According to the name that was mentioned in the will of the late king, I, Draco Julian, announced Prince Isaac to be the next King of the scarlet kingdom. Praise the new king, everyone." Alpha Draco announced loudly.
And all eyes turned to Prince Isaac. Everyone was staring at Prince Isaac in shock.
