It had gotten dark, and I was still pacing my room like an animal trapped in a cage that was far too small. I had no idea what else to do. Lucian had left shortly after our meeting, and while I wasn’t sure where he was going, I could only hope he would come across Kate and Chris and help them.
However, as I was pacing, I heard my father on the other side, addressing my mother.
“I will be leaving,” he said.
Leaving?
“To go where,” my mother inquired.
“A meeting. With Chris’s father.”
“I see. And what about that alpha on the other side?”
“I will deal with that once I have Kate.”
“Very well. Good luck,” she replied dryly before I listened to them disappearing. I wasn’t sure what she occupied her time with, but this was the perfect opportunity, and a plan suddenly formed
