I left early to clean up Lily’s house. We had left it with the door open and a dead body in the living room. There was also a broken window that needed fixing, but I could only manage a temporary repair with tape and a see-through garbage bag.
After that, I buried the body far from the house. Luckily, the dense forest around her little house provided ample cover. The male wasn’t familiar to me, but I hadn’t expected him to be. The ground was difficult to dig through because of the cold, but it had to be done.
Once I covered the body with the last of the dirt, I returned to the house to clean up. I found a bag in her bedroom and packed some of her clothes and toiletries, taking only what I thought was necessary. With the bag in hand, I went downstairs for one last look around
