The sun was surprisingly strong, even in the midst of the dark winter. It cut through the heavy curtains and decided to shine its intense rays directly into my face. I groaned as it slowly pulled me from the best sleep I’d had in years.
I rolled away and reached out, only to find the other side of the bed empty. Quickly, I got up and looked around, feeling a bit disoriented waking up in a stranger’s bedroom.
