As Daniel lay back on his office chair, drained and exhausted, a sudden rush of emotions encompassed his body as he remembered the gruesome photo of Dr. Shirvani. He drove the two hours from Tucson to his office in Phoenix in silent contemplation. Normally, he would have called someone to talk about it. However, Daniel didn’t call his brother, Jose Luis. Not even Pamela. Daniel was tempted to call his ex-wife Christina but that didn’t make sense. She was in a long-term relationship.
