The extravagant, latticed glass roof enclosed the courtyard between the mansion buildings. The long, flowing steel rods formed triangular frames where the glass panes were attached. The rods’ shadow reflected onto the ground like silhouettes of trusses warming the space as the clouds and sun traversed the sky. Daniel looked around at the limestone ground floor filled with visitors walking in and out of the museum including the numerous exhibit rooms filling all six levels.
