THE REBELLIOUS MATE

CHAPTER ONE

He drags me with him and didn't stop anywhere till we reached his room.

He closed the door behind us as he entered.

"No, no, no, this can't be happening" I couldn't help but cry out.

How can it be?.

That's not how it's supposed to be?.

I have to more years left?.

And also, he's just like a brother to me, how can my brother be my mate?.

Plus, he's the Alpha's son which means, one day, hell be the Alpha and I, the Luna.

No! That's not part of my plan.

I want to travel this world and if I become a Luna, I can never do that.

Why wasn't I given a chance to choose who my mate should be?.

Yeah! I know we have no choice in that, the Moon goddess does so for us but, but, at least we had to be compatible but we are nothing like that.

"Bella, Bella" I heard my name being called from a distance but I just ignored it.

I have much more to deal with right now and whatever it is, has to wait.

But then I felt someone shaking me and the thrilling feeling is back again.

I quickly jerked away because I don't want to get used to such feeling.

"Would you at least calm down, you have been pacing up and down the room" he points out.

That's when I realize that I was just pacing up and down.

I'm still doing so as we speak.

I looked up at him and he still looked composed.

How on is he still calm in a situation like this?.

"Now, I need you to take in deep breaths and calm down, then we can talk" he says in his soft soothing voice.

"There's nothing to talk about" I argued.

"You and I both know there is" he says.

I know, but I just don't want to.

He motions for me to seat on the seat besides him but heck no, not going to happen again.

I walk over and seat on his king sized bed, ignoring all his musky manly scent invading my nose.

My wolf whimpers from the loss of contact.

'Focus girl, we have a dream remember and it has to be fulfilled, nothing can stop it's I cautioned her.

He just nodded back at me and stayed silent afterwards.

"How?"

"Well..."

We both spoke at the same time.

"You go first" he says.

"No, you first" I insisted.

I want to get this over with as soon as possible and then I'll be on my way.

"So, you're my mate"

"I know this is a lot for you to take in but trust me, we'll get through it"

"Now, all you have to do is reject me right, I'm sure you also don't want me as your mate, I mean, you have been ignoring me for the past few years" I say without even thinking.

Even though it was a bit dark in the room as it was only one night lamp that is switched on, I could see the hesitation in his eyes.

And why's he hesitating?.

"You really don't know what's going on" he murmured but I still heard it.

"What's going on?" I asked, feeling enraged.

What is he hiding from me now?.

He just ignored me and got up from his seat, walking over to the window in his room.

"I'm sure you know the excruciating pain mates go through when they reject each other right and even as the Alpha of this pack, I am not immune to that and so..."

"You mean to say you can't reject me, why?" I screamed, getting more agitated.

It takes a lot to make me mad and right now, he is making me furious.

Why can't we just be done with it and nobody will know.

Well, they will figure it out but it would be late by then.

He takes a deep breath.

"Yes, I can't" he answers back.

Why is he making it so hard on me now?.

Why can't he just do it, I mean, he's the Alpha.

He's a werewolf as well as a beast,he can handle it all, can't he.

"Then why don't you do it then" he suggests.

Great idea.

"I... Bella..." But then, I strayed.

Why can't I just utter it.

All of a sudden, I felt a surge of pain in my chest and I fell to the ground, groaning in pain.

This is the absolute first for me, I've never been physical hurt in my life than I am right now.

What is happening with me?.

"Are you ok?" he asks in a worried voice, kneeling close to me, tapping my shoulder.

"Move away from me" I warn him.

I could see the disappointed look in his eyes but he did as told.

It took me a few minutes and I was back to normal and I suddenly want to get out of there.

If I can't reject him for some unknown reason, then I'll stay away from him, I'm sure the moon goddess will surely know that her match was wrong this time, very wrong.

I mean, I'm so soft hearted and sweet and he's the entire opposite of that.

I used to tolerate all that because he's my brother but now, he's my mate and I don't think I can handle a monster like him.

I got up and headed for the door.

"Where are you going, we aren't done talking yet" he says but I ignored him.

I know it's rude to walk away from my future Alpha but what else can I do.

I could hear his footsteps from behind me and he is soon catching up and from the sound of it, he sounds mad.

"Bella baby, there you are, we've been looking all over for you" Katrina calls out from the door and barged in without permission.

I let out a huge sigh as she has saved me from a catastrophe.

"What are you doing in brother's room, I thought you two have stopped talking, well we were wrong about it then, you are still the best buddies you have always been I can see"

"Oh! I remembered how he's always getting into fights for you, I and Lillian would always get into trouble just by glaring at you" she says, lifting her head up, as if she was remembering something.

"So now tell me, what are the two of you planning, tell me, huh?!" She says, lifting an eyebrow at me.

I turned to him and then at her.

He seems really unfazed about all the events unfolding, as if he has been waiting for it all to happen.

Wait a minute, has he?.

No, I'm sure he hasn't.

Only Lillian has the gift to see into the future not him and I'm sure she couldn't see mine because I m immune to her gift, so she mustn't have told him.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid here.

"Hey girl, I asked you a question" she tapped me back to reality.

"Uhmm... Uhmm... I have come here to collect my birthday gift from him since he didn't come down to give me one, but apparently, he didn't have one" I lied.

"Oh! That's bad, why didn't you get her a gift brother, it's her sweet sixteen, the most important of all girl's birthdays" Katrina asks.

He looked up at me, trying to communicate but I blocked him off.

I don't want to have any sort of connection with him right now.

"Well, I did, but she didn't like it" he answers back.

I lifted up my head at him, looking all shocked.

"What's that, why didn't you like your gift?" She asks.

"Yeah tell her, why didn't you like it, it was really cute" he added, folding his arms and smirking.

Seems like he's trying to push me into a corner but I won't let him.

"Can you believe it, he gave a me a doll as a gift, what am I, five?" I said and laughed nervously, hoping she won't see through my lies.

I have lied far too much as it is today.

"Are you sure it's a doll?" he asks.

"Yes, of course it is" I answered back more faster than my mouth could even move.

Katrina gave me a weird look and was trying to talk but I interrupted her.

"What, it's like someone's calling us downstairs" I said and pulled her out of the room.

No, I didn't hear anyone calling us" she says but I ignored her.

'Happy Birthday, mate" I hear him say through the mind link.

I turned around to see him smirking.

Yeah whatever, but that won't be for long.

I would make sure of that.

The next morning

I jerk away from my sleep, panting heavily.

I just can't believe that I had the weirdest dream today.

I had dreamt that I had been mated to my brother.

Well, technically not my brother, but he's like a brother to me as we grew up in the same house and I've always regarded him as one.

Gosh! Thank goodness it was just a dream, else, I wouldn't have known how to react to that.

'It's not a dream you moron, it happened yesterday' my wolf cautioned me.

"What no, you're mistaken, I'm just sixteen, I can't have a mate yet till I'm eighteen and it would definitely not be him" I argued with her first thing in the morning.

'And yet, you shifted at the age of fourteen' she pointed out.

"Yeah and so?, That doesn't mean that I would have my mate soon,I'm sure there must be some mistake, I'm sure it will be sorted out soon, once my real mate reaches eighteen" I said, internally picturing Benson.

'For the last time, the Moon goddess doesn't make mistake, you should know more than anyone as you are a direct descendant of her' she says.

I just rolled my eyes at that.

She has also been telling me that since the day she surfaced but never gave me any proof.

Yes, I know I am different but that doesn't make me a descendant of nobody.

"Hey darling, I see you are up already, and who are you talking to so early in the morning, is there any problem?" Aunty K asks from the door.

I quickly got up from the bed, pushing her as far away into my head as possible.

I don't want Luna to start blurting things out as soon as she gets the chance.

And she has this way of getting control over me without my permission.

Also, I am the only person in this pack who's wolf has a name different than my real name.

My mother always said that as a joke that they must have given me the wrong name in haste.

"No... nothing aunt" I blubbered.

She stared at me intently for a bit.

"Ok, quickly get ready it's time for school,I know you are beat up from the party yesterday, but you shouldn't miss school because of that and also, we are all waiting for you for breakfast" she says.

And by all, she means, including Abraham.

Oh no! What am I going to do now. I don't think I want to face him anytime soon.

"And also, I want to show you some of my new collections when you come back from school, now be quick" she says.

I quickly got up because she always knows how to get me anticipating.

She walked out of the room and I quickly rushed into the shower.

I took my bath but then, I made sure to waste my time wearing makeup so as to skip breakfast.

When I checked my alarm clock, it was ten minutes to eight and so, I ran out and headed straight to the car.

Katrina and Lilliana were already waiting for me in the car.

"Thought you were flunking today" Katrina says and smiles brightly.

"And good morning to you too, what me, flunk school, you know that would never happen, I go to school even on Saturdays" I said, adjusting my bag.

"Now will you get in already, were running late, thanks to you" Liliana cuts me off.

I quickly got in, afraid she would drive and then I would have no other choice but to...

Don't even think about it.

I quickly got in and she drove off.

I just can't wait to get my own car as well.

They kept on arguing about the music all the way to school.

Our school's name is the Red Crescent moon high school and all the kids in the pack and also the neighbors towns also attend this school.

Katrina and Lilliana are in the 12th grade and they would be graduating this year and I on the other hand, am in my sophomore year (10th grade).

We drove into the parking lot just when the bell rang.

"Great, now we're late" Lilliana complains.

"That's a first, I'm sure they will make it pass" I said.

She glared at me and I shut my trap hole.

Good thing she can't read my emotion, else, she would have predicted some horrible accident on me.

I quickly rushed out of the car and head for the school building.

"Bye guys, see you later" I call out.

During lunchtime

I walked into the cafeteria and ordered my food.

Feeling like I didn't want to be close to anybody today, I walked out of the cafeteria and head towards the school backyard and take a seat underneath some tree.

Some other students are also having their lunch around while some are just playing football or other things.

I ignored it all and dig into my food.

As it is, I didn't have breakfast today.

The sun was so bright that I couldn't help after having my chips and burger with coke soda brunch, I laid down underneath the tree to watch the skies.

The birds were flying all over the place, making the view more serene.

"Hey, Benson has shifted and his wolf's so big" someone said besides me while rushing off.

Just hearing the name of the he man I want to be my mate, I quickly got up to go see his beautiful and handsome wolf.
