Chapter 14: Reincarnation of Venus

Third Person’s Point of View

Chief Archangel Michael’s body shook hearing Lucifer’s firm proclamation.

The words of Chief Archangel Lucifer that resounded with the melodies in the forest was like an undying promise to bring justice to a girl he barely knew.

Entering the hall of lost souls and to suffer the baptism of being a warrior of heaven is easier said than done.

There are even some Archangels that vanished in existence in the process of baptism when they lose their faith and the spirit of their will.

The baptism of the hall of lost souls can end quickly or last for centuries.

The Archangels that decided to undergo the trials will enter a separate space created by a cherub that contains nine deadly missions that will test their faith, will, strength, wit and courage.

There is also an illusion of the temptation of the devil in the test, and some Archangels with wavering spirit eventually lose themselves and became mindless puppets.

There are thousands of Archangels and angels that tried to be baptized and become an honorable warrior of the heaven’s legion, but only a few survived.

Chief Archangel Michael knows a lot about the baptism trials of the hall of lost souls, and it is because Chief Archangel Gabriel once gave him a warning when he recklessly wanted to try and enter the trials.

Gabriel said that if his will wavered for even a bit, he would most likely fail the trial and disappear from existence. A that time, Michael’s mindset is in chaos and he wouldn’t pass even the first trial.

Of course, Michael did not heed Gabriel’s warning because of his muddled thoughts, so Chief Archangel Gabriel decided to knock him unconscious for his own safety.

That was an event in Michael’s life a millennium ago.

Michael agitatedly stood facing Lucifer.

“Baptized by the hall of lost souls? Are you crazy? What if you fail?”

Michael’s low grating voice because of gritting his teeth too hard blended in the melodies of the forest.

Lucifer noticed the worry in Michael’s eyes and he couldn’t help but lightly smile in gratitude.

“I have made up my mind Michael and even I can’t stop myself.”

Lucifer smiled warmly and Michael did not even know what to say. He already knows that he can’t change Lucifer’s decision. In terms of stubbornness, He and Chief Archangel Gabriel cannot begin to compare to Lucifer.

“When will you enter the hall of lost souls?”

Michael’s defeated and depressed voice made Lucifer chuckle.

“At the last day of our break, I still need to ask permission to the hall of Archangels and I still need to make sure that Venus is reincarnated.”

Lucifer laid out his plans for Michael to hear.

Michael’s eyebrows perked up at the sudden mention of the name of Venus.

“Venus is the name of the human who was murdered?”

Lucifer nodded solemnly at Michael’s inquiry as he remembered the smile on Venus’ face.

Her peaceful smiling face the night before is like an illusion and an insult to Lucifer’s memories. That even a proud and Chief Archangel of heaven cannot save the life of a human that showed him kindness is unbearable.

Michael stared at Lucifer’s face, trying to find some kind of emotion from it, and he eventually heaved a deep sigh of relief when he surmised that the feelings of Lucifer for that girl Venus is not what he is thinking about.

“Now that you have decided, I just want you to succeed.”

Michael encouragingly smiled at Lucifer. Once he entered the trials of baptism, there will be no turning back and the only ending will be if he survived or not.

Lucifer nodded firmly while his fists let out popping sounds as he grips them with all the pent up anger that he has. He also knows that his life is at stake once the trial starts, but it is also the only way for him to gain strength and power.

“I know, thank you Michael.”

Michael just shook his head at Lucifer’s gratitude. For Michael, there is no need for words of thanks between friends and brothers, only the trust that they share is enough.

“Maybe I can introduce you to Gabriel, as he is one of the strongest warriors of heaven that I know.”

Lucifer’s eyes widened at the mention of Gabriel’s name.

“Do you mean the Chief Archangel Gabriel of the hall of lost souls and a general of the legion of heaven?”

Lucifer’s words dripped with awe from all of his being. He is a fan of Chief Archangel Gabriel ever since he had heard of the stories of his exploits and battles on the mortal world with demons and evil ghosts.

He had never known that Michael is Gabriel’s friend, if he did, he might have irritated him only to be able to meet with the warrior Archangel.

Michael gave Lucifer a silly look because of his sudden enthusiasm when he was just filled with anger and resolution a while ago.

“Don’t tell me you’re one of his stalkers?”

Lucifer innocently shook his head.

“What’s a stalker? I’m his fan. Don’t you remember you told me that if you admired someone, you will become their fan?”

Michael nodded in understanding. He is learning new words from the archangels under him and the human souls on the hall of bliss.

“Anyway, I’ll tell him to meet you on the last day of our break.”

Lucifer hummed in response while his thoughts flew back to Venus’ reincarnation.

Although, Archangel are needed to perform their duties on the nine different halls of heaven, on their break, the higher beings are the ones who facilitate and made sure that the operations of the halls do not stop.

The operation on the hall of reincarnation is one of those that cannot be stopped, because the path of reincarnation also concerns the time of birth in the mortal world, and even if a soul undergoes reincarnation today, that does not mean that they will be born on the same day.

They might be born months or years later depending on the path of reincarnation that heaven decided for them.

There is also the rare case of the hall of bliss, wherein the human soul decided to not experience reincarnation and just live blissfully on heaven. Of course, there will be a lot of work if a human soul doesn’t want to be reincarnated and one of them is to cut their reincarnation path without damaging the other paths.

“I’ll be going to the hall of reincarnation.”

Michael just smiled and waved his hand for Lucifer to go.

“I’ll look for you once I check if she has already entered her reincarnation path.”

Lucifer’s voice reverberated in the surroundings as his figure vanished in the sky in a trail of white light.

At the entrance of the hall of reincarnation, Lucifer stood proudly with his beautiful white wings behind his back.

“What are your queries Chief Archangel Lucifer?”

A voice riddled with heavenly rhythm and melody sounded next to Lucifer’s ears. The aura of the speaker belongs to a Virtue, one of the higher beings of heaven.

“I seek to see the records of reincarnation for a human girl named Venus.”

Lucifer’s words are filled with respect and humbleness.

“It is not possible, you have already finished you’re duties in this hall and it is prohibited to let you in.”

The words rang in Lucifer’s being and unwillingness surged in his heart.

“Can I at least know if she had already entered her reincarnation path?”

Lucifer did not mind to ask about Venus, because he knows that his little business will not arouse any suspicion from a higher being such as a Virtue. It could be said that the higher beings are disinclined to even pay attention to them.

“Venus Maes, she has entered her path of reincarnation and is already born on earth.”

The flowing melodic voice of the Virtue sounded out before all fell silent in the hall of reincarnation.

Lucifer felt his heart at ease at the news. He has been anxious and guilty for Venus and hearing that she has already been given a new life on earth relaxed his spirit.

Lucifer bowed in gratitude before flying off to the direction of the heaven’s edge.

He wants to see for himself that Venus is safe and sound.

It only took him a couple of minutes before arriving at the cliff and he did not even hesitate to let himself fall and plunge down to earth.

The burning emotions inside him prompted Lucifer to arrive on earth in but a few hours.

Looking at the familiar mountains and breathing in the familiar fresh air, Lucifer let out a pure smile and used his spiritual perception to locate the familiar fluctuations of Venus’ soul.

He did not feel her soul energy in the city, but in a town close by. Lucifer decided to fly over the clouds to arrive at the town faster and he landed on a forest nearby.

Lucifer hid his wings and the itching of the marks was once again felt by him.

Looking at the prosperous town, Lucifer walked to the direction of the soul energy of Venus.

There are some passerby’s that gave him weird and admiring looks. He is still wearing his white shirt and pants but his beautiful looks only aroused eyes made of hearts from the surrounding females.

Lucifer arrived at a white building and he smiled happily while feeling the vibrant soul energy coming from Venus.

He entered the building and was met with a bustling scene of humans all around. Lucifer smiled in admiration. This is the first time he saw a lot of human beings in one place.

Lucifer wanted to interact with them but he must first see Venus, so he followed the trail of her soul and he entered a big room with white walls.

“What do we do?”

A crying girl on her late-twenties hugged a man on his early-thirties.

“I’m sorry, we have tried everything we could but her heart and lungs are too small.”

A middle-aged man holding a chart and wearing white coats enters Lucifer’s eyes.

Lucifer traced the soul energy in the air and his attention was drawn to a white bed with a baby on it.

The baby was strapped with tubes on her mouth and nose, and there is also tube on her small wrist.

The brilliant green light of the baby’s forehead seems beautiful and tragic at the same time.

Lucifer felt his body froze on the spot and the beating of his heart to be unstable.

“Honey, why is this happening? Baby Venus was just born and they are saying that she cannot live past this week!”

The girl on her late-twenties screamed and cried with nowhere to vent while her husband silently cried as he hugged her tightly.

The words entered Lucifer’s ears like a bolt of lightning and petrified him on the spot.
