She’d been so good for so long... but bad never takes a permanent vacation.
Like so many things in life, there was a slippery slope down Mount Bad, and Hannah was now bloodied and muddied from the fall—figuratively, of course. In terms of her appearances, why, she’d never looked better. She could see her reflection in the mirrored glass of the building across the way, and she couldn’t help primping.
Lewis was a great help. It had been his idea to change her hair colour, and just that slight focus and definition of shade stopped her looking so mousy. Her former frizz-ball of hair was now tamed daily with a variety of products, again chosen by Lewis, and working at the store had helped tighten her grasp on fashion.
