CHAPTER TWENTY

NICK BRACED HIS HANDS on his hips and looked after the gelding, who galloped toward the forest at full speed. Dean’s crude swearing filled the night, and Nick grinned wolfishly.
Nick had decided to free Dean’s hands and legs so that the boy could control the horse. However, the young man had thought to take advantage of Nick’s generosity and attacked Nick once more as a way of payment.
That had forced Nick’s hand, and he had to put Dean down with another well-aimed fist. This time though, Nick didn’t want to leave the boy unconscious but only to subdue him. Unfortunately, in the process, Dean spat out two teeth, and consequently, he rode away with a b****y mouth.
