Chapter 7

Two Days Later...

(Rose)

I am back home. I am sore and tired, but I am doing well overall. I got to come home this morning and just got here a little while ago. Ash went to let our parents know that we are here and they can come to see us.

Our mothers were upset that we did not allow them to see us while we were in the hospital. However, they understood that I needed rest and that we wanted some time for ourselves to bond with the babies.

Ash comes in with a smile on his face.

"They will be here soon." He says, kissing me on the cheek.

I look over at our babies. They are fast asleep in the portable crib we placed in their play room.

"How do you think they are going to react to their names?" I ask Ash.

He smiles as he walks over and looks at the babies.

"I think they will like the names." He tells me. Just as he is about to sit down we hear a knock on the door.

Our mothers rush in and walk past Ash and right to the crib. I laugh as I watch them each pick up a baby. Both have huge smiles on their faces as they turn to look at me. By now our dads have walked in and are standing next to me.

"So how long are you planning to keep their names a secret?" My dad asks us with a smile.

"Well our little girls name is Violet, and our little boys name is Heath." Ash tells him.

"I love those names, they are adorable." I hear my mom say while she is looking down at Heath.

I hear Mary gasp. I look over to see why.

"Is everything okay?" James asks walking over to her.

I look to Ash. He just nods his head.

"As Mary just saw when Violet opened her eyes. Both of the babies have the same electric green around their eyes as I do. Lilly told me that it is more likely to happen to them, as they carry some of my gifts as well." I say.

"So they will be powerful like you?" My dad askes me.

"It seems so," I answer as I watch our parents with the babies.

"With the babies having some of my powers as well, we are going to have to let the kingdom be aware of the truth. We don't know when the babies will gain their powers or when they will be able to control them. We don't even know what powers they have." I say.

"We don't want the kingdom to fear them. I want them to accept them. So with knowledge, the kingdom can prepare for their powers when they are gained." Ash explains more.

"Yes I think that is a smart idea. But first let's focus on finding Sol. She is still not coming forward and she is dodging our trackers." James explains looking over at me.

I see that my parents are talking to one another through their link.

"Care to share?" I ask them. I could just invade and hear their conversation. I just don't like doing it.

"Yeah, sorry. Have you been to the void recently? Or has Selene come to talk to you?" My dad asks.

I stopped and thought about it.

"No she has not come to me, but I also have not reached out to her." I say looking at Ash.

"She only came to me one time." He tells us.

"Do you think that I should try to reach out to her?" I ask.

"She may be able to give us an idea of what Sol is doing." Ash says to me with a shrug.

The babies begin to fuss, so I look at the time and smile.

"It's time for them to eat." I say to our parents as I get up to grab Violet from Mary as she is the one who is currently fussing. Heath is starting to wake up in my mom's arms.

Once I have Violet I walk back over to my chair. Ash helps me get situated and makes sure I am comfortable and that I have everything I need. I smile as I thank him for his help.

It only takes a moment to get Violet latched on to me so that I could feed her. The shirt I have on was made to breastfeed in, so I am able to feed her without being exposed.

"Do you know how long you are planning to breastfeed?" My mom asks me with a smile.

"I was told that it is a lot of work for just one baby and even more difficult for two babies. But I want to do this as long as I can." I say to her.

"Well, I will let the kitchen staff know. There are some foods that you can eat that will help your supply grow. Always make sure you have enough water and high protein foods." Mary tells me with a smile.

"We are all here to help and support you on this journey. Being a parent is challenging. We will try to stay back and be there when you need it. None of us want to overstep or make you feel like we are trying to take over for you." James says to me.

I look up and thank him. I smile as I see that he is holding Heath. He is smiling and talking to him.

I open a link with Ash, "Who would of thought that the Alpha King would be such a softie around a baby?"

Ash laughed out loud causing our parents to look over at us.

"Violet is finished. Can I have Heath?" I say to James.

I pass Violet to my dad who acts just like James with her. James smiles as he passes me Heath.

We all sit and talk as I feed Heath. Once he is done, he is passed on to a grandparent again. Everyone has healed the babies and I am getting tired so I look at Ash. He sees my look and smiles.

"I think Rose is getting tired." He says walking over to me.

"Can we help get the babies down for you?" Mary asks me.

"Yes that is fine. I have milk pumped and in the fridge if they need it. For now I want them both sleeping here in the play room. They seem to do better when they are close to one another." I say as I stand up.

"You have done an amazing job so far. We are so proud of you." James says to me as he gives me a hug.

I tell them all goodbye and kiss my babies as I walk back into the main suite. I make it to the room and see that Ash has followed me.

"I wanted to make sure you didn't need anything." He says with a smile.

He helps me get into bed. He made sure the baby monitor was on and everything was within my reach.

"I will take the monitor with me. Once the babies are asleep, I am planning to do some work in the little office. So if you need anything just let me know. I won't be far away." He whispers, leaning down and kissing me.

"Thank you for all that you do." I say as I kiss him back.

He stands up and walks towards the door.

"I love you." I say as I snuggle deep into the bed.

"I love you too." He says as he walks out and closes the door.
