Scarlett's heart leaped into her throat as she flailed in the water. Panic overtook her senses. Suddenly, she felt a firm support beneath her stomach—Jason had come to her side, gently holding her up. His voice was calm, steady. "Don't be afraid. Let the water hold you. Feel its resistance." He guided her slowly through the water, his hand resting on her abdomen, strong and reassuring. Even in the water, the warmth of his touch radiated through her, grounding her.
