KOUSUKE HAYATE
I have a feeling something bad is going to happen to me, but I push those thoughts away. It’s my birthday today, so all I have to think about is it is beautiful.
I looked at my cell phone again to see my update.
“Done,” I breathed. Somehow, this update erased my tiredness from walking. I still have a long way to go, so it’s better that I have something to do while walking.
They created the God Game when I was a kid. So this game is old, but until now no one has opened the vaults in this game.
The formulators used a kind of special compression encryption that allowed a lot of data to be transmitted in a tiny package. It was the OPTUS of the technology world. It also meant that you could get 8G speeds on the most basic of networks. Instead of revolutionising infrastructure, they got more creative with compression algorithms. I feel like an employee of NASA.
Uncle told me that my father was one of the formulators of the God Game. At first, he did not want me to play this game. I do not know what the reason is. But in the end, he did not stop me either.
How does it feel to be a god? How does it feel to hear your people begging you? What does it feel like to be looked up to? That you are powerful. These are the reasons why many people play the Gods' Game.
And also, because of the popularity of the game, many people give a big money reward when they pass a level while others make a bet. And as the number of players increases, so does its market. And if I’m not mistaken, their income was forty-three billion dollars in the last three years.
In this game, I can jump and run without ever tiring. I can become a superhero, the kind I always admired so much. I can speak with nobility, rescue others, try new things I never dreamed I’d attempt. It is an unknown land in which anything is possible, whatever is broken in you becomes both fixed and improved. That keeps me having the chance to save others and become stronger myself. For me, that’s balance. I can even get my family back if I have to, but I shouldn’t.
The economy of electronics and gadgets has grown. Because you cannot play this game only if your equipment is cheap. I also worked on my gadget for a few months just to be able to play it. The more RAM (Random Access Memory) you have, the less your phone has to load from flash memory, and the more intensive the graphics can be. Since a mobile device’s Graphics Processing Unit shares the same RAM pool as the rest of your phone, the more RAM you have, the better.
What exactly is the God Game? The God Game is a game of being a ruler, a god, a deity and, above all, having the power to open the three vaults where nobody knows what’s inside. In this game you can be anything you want. A pirate, fairy, giant, prince, king, princess, assassin, hero, villain, monster, genie, anything you want, that’s how cool it is.
In this game you are free to do what you put as you are. You can be rich and very rich. You can build your own house, you can buy whatever you want. Something people liked. So they made the game the same as reality here, just no rules and science. We pick our avatar and the life mission is given according to our level.
We are finding the answers in these simulations we run over and over. If you mess it up, suffer to the end... or delete all of your data, if so you will be searched and rebooted as the Olympus minions.
I was busy checking for changes in the game when my cell phone suddenly rang. I immediately looked at who it was and immediately answered.
“Uncle?” I answered and heard him sigh.
“Where.are.you.boy?” he answered emphatically on the other line.
“I’m still walking there very far, uncle, if you only knew. Just allow me to ride so I can be there right away,” I answered, and heard him sigh again.
I just scratched my neck because I knew he would shout at me again. But I was just surprised that I heard nothing but silence in the line.
“Move faster, I’ll be here waiting,” he answered and ended the call, leaving me completely surprised.
Looks like I need to get a ride to get there faster if he says. I immediately turned around to look for a ride, but it all seemed crowded because of so many people now.
“Ugh, looks like I am just going to walk tss.” The weather has been so warm in recent days, the air so velvety on the skin.
It’s just two corners and I can see the house a bit. I can already feel the pain in my legs. I saved money, but the distance I walked beat me. I feel like I want to go to the hospital. Why is uncle punishing me on my birthday? Did I do something wrong?
I was very close to home and I could see the roof when I stopped walking. I seemed to feel as if someone was following me. I looked at the time using the watch I was wearing. It will be two o’clock in the afternoon. I looked around because I really felt different. My eyes could not find that person.
I sped up my walk, and even though I was exhausted, I had to speed up. When I entered the yard of the house I let out a sigh of relief.
I felt safe when I saw my uncle approaching me with a rolled up newspaper.
I screamed in pain when the thick rolled-up newspaper landed on my head. He not only hit me on the head, not once but three times.
“Uncle!” I shouted and even though I was used to him doing this to me, I still couldn’t help but get hurt. It hurts, so it hurts much that even my blessed gorgeous face hurts.
“Come on in! I’ve been waiting for hours here. I don’t know what to do with you. You are still young, those bones you have there are still young, yet you walk like a sloth!” he shouted, making me cover my ears.
When we both got inside, I still felt that someone was watching me.
